THE FOLLOWING IS VIA YWN Tzefas Chief Sephardi Rabbi HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Eliyahu is calling on rabbonim not to give a hechsher on lulavim imported from Gaza. The rav explains that giving a hechsher to such lulavim ignores the plight of southern Israeli residents as well as aiding the enemy. The rav released a kol korei stating: “I call on all my fellow rabbis not to give Hechsheirim to the lulavim from Gaza. There are enough lulavim originating in Israel, and we have to help the Israeli farmers and not the Gazan farmers or their brothers or sons in burning the fields of Jewish farmers in the south. “Whoever pays for a lulav from Gaza pays money to the wicked of Gaza,” says Rabbi Eliyahu, adding that “every shekel in the hands of the Jewish seller [used to purch...

In Devarim, Perek Lamed Bais, posuk gimmel, the posuk teaches us that when we call out Hashem’s name we must bring greatness to Hashem. We learn from this halacha that one must recite Birchas HaTorah before he learns. There is a discussion in Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim, siman mem zayin, seif zayin discussing what the halacha is if one forgets to say Birchas HaTorah. Can he be yotzei when he says the bracha of Ahava Rabba/Ahavas Olam? The question in Shulchan Aruch is whether it is sufficient for one to say Krias Shema and suffice that as learning, or is one required to learn Torah right after davening for the Birchas HaTorah...

Washington - The Trump administration is warning the Palestinian Authority that severe US aid cuts to Ramallah may be in the offing unless it ends its compensation program for the families of murderers and terrorists convicted by Israel. Responding to reports that the family of the killer of Ari Fuld, an American citizen, would receive official compensation for the terrorist act, a White House official noted that recent congressional legislation compels the administration to “restrict the use of Economic Support Funds that directly benefit the Palestinian Authority” unless the State Department “certifies that the PA has taken steps to end the practice of providing payments to individuals, and families of individuals, who committed acts of terrorism.” “As we&...

Conservative commentator and author Ann Coulter said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that Democrats are using allegations of  assault against Judge Brett Kavanaugh “purely for delay.” “Last week, we started getting polls that were saying Democrats have a shot at taking the Senate [in the midterms],” Coulter said, adding that she believed that is the reason for the sudden call for delay. “If they get away with this, then you have CNN running the country,” Coulter said. “It’s not even just the Democrats running the country, it’s the media running the country because this allegation can be made against anyone at any time. Absolutely non-disprovable.” Read more at Fox News.
A Republican candidate won a shocking victory Tuesday in Texas, capturing a state Senate seat that has been held by Democrats for 139 years — and fizzling out Democrats’ “blue wave” aspirations to flip the Lone Star State. Pete Flores, a former leader of the state Parks and Wildlife Department’s law enforcement division, won the reliably blue district against Democrat Pete Gallego. “I owe this first to God and then to the grassroots in all of our counties in Senate District 19,” Flores said after his opponent conceded the race, the Texas Tribune reported. “Primarily this is an example of what happens when you have a united front and a grassroots effort. So now it’s time to go to work.” Read more at Fox News.
Baltimore, MD - Sept. 20, 2018 - The Torah of SuccosSuccos is a special holiday of simcha, as it is the completion of the cycle of the shalosh regalim and the Yamim Noraim. There are two mitzvos related to Succos that are halachos l’Moshe MiSinai, aspects of the Torah that cannot be explained or extrapolated from the text. Although most areas of Torah are for us to explore and derive, this area is to be taken just as it is, directly from Hashem. On the Yom Tov of Succos, we celebrate the ways that we were protected in the midbar, completely protected and supported by Hashem. No matter what human effort we put forth, we recognize that at the end of the day, it is all dependent on Hashem. To listen, click hereSuccos- In Hashem's HandsSuccos is the completion of the Shal...
US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman condemned on Thursday the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) practice of making payments to the families of terrorists incarcerated by Israel as “unconscionable”, following reports of advance payments made to the family of Khalil Jabarin, who stabbed American-Israeli settler Ari Fuld to death in the West Bank on Monday. “The Palestinian Prisoner Affairs Commission has confirmed that the family of the terrorist who murdered Ari Fuld is ‘eligible to receive a monthly salary’ as compensation for his incarceration,” Friedman tweeted. Israel’s television Channel 21 reported that the PA had transferred 12,000 Israeli shekels ($3,360) to the Palestinian slayer’s family just hours after the attack took place o...
The IDF chief of staff has warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet that the chances of a major round of violence in the West Bank in the coming weeks are extremely high. According to Israel’s Channel Two, Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot told the cabinet at its weekly meeting that there is a 60-80 percent of renewed conflict in the West Bank, which would require much greater efforts to suppress than the current violence on the Gaza border. The chief of staff reportedly based his assessment on several factors. First, the current tension between Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and President Donald Trump. Abbas has all but completely cut off relations with the Trump administration since it recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moved the US embas...
The former secretary of state may be violating the law by talking to Iran, the Republican senator says on ‘Fox & Friends.’
“Last week, a Palestinian teenager, Khalil Jabarin, stabbed and murdered Israeli Ari Fuld in the parking lot of a supermarket. Before succumbing to his wounds, Fuld, together with another civilian, shot and wounded Jabarin, which led to his capture. The Palestinian Authority is portraying terrorist murderer Jabarin as a victim of an unprovoked Israeli shooting. The headline in the official P.A. daily indicated that he had not even attacked anyone: The report continued to insinuate this, stating that Jabarin “stabbed a settler according to the Israeli occupation’s version,” and even accused Israel of neglecting the injured terrorist, claiming he was “left bleeding on the ground for more than 20 minutes”: “The boy Jabarin was wounded by a number o...
