Baltimore, MD - Apr. 24, 2018 - Friday night around 10:45 PM, Shomrim dispatch received a call that a couple was held up at gun point near Steele Road and Taney Road. One unit responded to the house and other units canvassed the area looking for the suspect vehicle which was described as a silver Nissan SUV. The unit at the victim's home relayed info that the suspects were three males wearing masks. One had a shotgun, one had a pistol. The female victim handed over her jewelry.
As units were canvassing, we received another call from someone who said that a frum man approached him and told him he was mugged in front of the Hatzalah building. However, he was no longer with the victim. Shomrim units were able to track down the victim after Shabbos and spoke with him. ...

Mohammed Maqadmeh, a member of Hamas' military wing, killed in Gaza when a bomb he was apparently assembling exploded • Four other Palestinians wounded in blast, including bomb maker's son • Palestinians initially blame explosion on Israeli drone strike.
A member of Hamas' military wing, 55-year-old Mohammed Nimer al-Maqadmeh, was killed Monday when a bomb he was apparently assembling accidentally exploded.
Four Palestinians were also wounded in the blast. One of the wounded was reportedly Maqadmeh's young son, who sustained serious injuries.
Palestinian news outlets initially reported that an Israeli drone fired a missile at the building, but shortly thereafter Hamas admitted the explosion was likely the result of an accident.

Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron will be discussing the Iran nuclear deal Tuesday during their meetings at the White House.
Macron wants Trump to maintain the deal. Trump is undecided but has called it "a terrible deal."

TORONTO (AP) — A judge in Canada has ordered the 25-year-old man suspected of plowing a van into pedestrians in north Toronto detained on 10 counts of first-degree murder and 13 of attempted murder.
Suspect Alek Minassian learned of the charges in a brief initial hearing before a judge in Toronto on Tuesday.
Minassian wore a white jail jumpsuit and had his hands handcuffed. He showed little emotion.
He was asked to say his name and if he understood an order not to have any contact with anyone injured in Monday's crash scene on a busy sidewalk.
He did not enter a plea to the charges and was ordered to return to court on May 10.

A two-year-old boy died Tuesday afternoon, after he was forgotten in a car outside of Haifa in northern Israel.
The child was left in a vehicle in the haredi community of Rechasim near Haifa for a number of hours before he was discovered.
Paramedics and emergency first responders from MDA and United Hatzalah were called to the scene, and attempted to resuscitate the child.
Despite their efforts to save the boy, however, emergency medical teams were ultimately forced to declare the child dead.
“When I got there, I saw a toddler, unconscious, next to a car,” said MDA paramedic Haim Atia. “He wasn’t breathing and had no heartbeat. His body temperature was extremely high. I was told that he had been locked inside a hot car for a number of hours.”

JERUSALEM (AP) — The Israeli military says it has demolished the home of a Palestinian involved in the killing of a West Bank settler.
The military said on Tuesday that troops knocked down the home of Ahmad Konba in Jenin. It says he was part of a group involved in the fatal drive-by shooting in January of Rabbi Raziel Shevah from an Israeli settlement outpost.

BANGKOK (AP) — Thailand is willing and able to host a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, but no plans have been made to do so, the country's foreign minister said Tuesday.
Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai was responding to questions from reporters who noted that Bangkok was one of several possible venues mentioned for such a summit, which Trump said could take place in early June to discuss North Korea's denuclearization. It would be the first-ever meeting between the leaders of the two countries.
