Just before Tuesday’s presidential election, the Biden-Harris administration quietly waived mandatory terrorism sanctions on the embattled Palestinian government—even as it determined that the government's leaders are paying imprisoned terrorists and fomenting violence in breach of U.S. law. The State Department, in a non-public notice to Congress, determined that the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) are not complying with agreements to curb terrorism against Israel and end the "pay-to-slay" program, which rewards imprisoned terrorists for committing acts of violence. Those violations should trigger American sanctions, barring members of the Palestinian government from obtaining U.S. visas. The Biden-Harris administration nonetheless...
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he has spoken with US President-elect Donald Trump three times in the last five days since the November 5 elections. “These were good and very important conversations” and were "designed to further tighten the strong alliance between Israel and the USA,” Netanyahu said. He stressed that he and the incoming President were aligned on the dangers posed by Iran."We see eye to eye on the Iranian threat in all its components and the danger it poses,” Netanyahu told his government at its weekly meeting on Sunday. He and Trump are also aligned on the “great opportunities before Israel,” particularly with regard to peace and the opportunities to expand it, Netanyahu said. Netanyahu's relationship ...
Arutz Sheva-Israel National News's English-language Facebook page was suspended last week following a series of reports against the page's posts. The reports may have stemmed from anti-Israel and antisemitic reporting campaigns against Israeli and Jewish pages. According to Facebook's policies, all users could report content that would appear to them as offensive or inappropriate. The system is meant to prevent the publishing of hate speech, immoral content, or mis and disinformation. While covering the current war, the page, which has 151,999 followers, received several complaints against various reports on the war's events including the elimination of senior Hezbollah official Nabil Qaouk on September 28th, an official IDF announcement about the commencement of the...
Salim Ayyash, a senior figure in the Hezbollah terror organization, was eliminated on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike, al-Arabiya reported. In December 2020, an international tribunal sentenced Ayyash in absentia to five concurrent life sentences on terrorism-related charges connected to the February 2005 suicide truck bombing in Beirut that killed Lebanon’s former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Earlier in the day, reports on social media claimed he was eliminated in a strike in the al-Qusair area on the Syria-Lebanon border. Hariri was killed only a few months after finishing his term as prime minister. The attack also killed 21 others, including former Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Bassel Fleihan, and wounded 226 persons. For his participation in the attack, th...

President-elect Trump has officially won Arizona, avenging his 2020 election loss in the crucial swing state. The race in Arizona was called by the Associated Press on Saturday evening. With Arizona, Trump has secured 11 more electoral votes, and has won 312 electoral votes in total. His opponent, Vice President Harris, only garnered 226 electoral votes. Trump's Arizona pick-up ends the battle for swing states in the 2024 presidential election. In addition to Arizona, he picked up electoral votes in North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania. President Biden won the state of Arizona by less than one-half of 1% in the 2020 election and the results in the key area of Maricopa County were also slim, with Biden beating Trump by 2%. Before Biden won Ar...

French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau has reported France Insoumise MP Marie Mesmeur to the Paris Prosecutor after she made a post on X/Twitter condoning Thursday's violent attacks on Israelis in Amsterdam. In the original post, made on 8 November, Mesmeur wrote, "These people here were not lynched because they were Jewish, but instead because they were racist and supported a genocide." This came after multiple Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were beaten, thrown into canals, chased with knives, and targeted by attackers in vehicles on Thursday night. Mesmeur's comments caused outrage among politicians and Jewish groups, with The International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (LICRA) accusing Mesmeur of justifying "pogromist violence."  Mesmeur, wh...
Baltimore, MD - Nov. 9, 2024  -  It may have been around 70 degrees today, but eventually, winter will get here. When it does, Baltimore City leaders say they'll be ready for it. "Our snow team is thoroughly prepared for the winter ahead, and we are ready to perform a successful program that requires more than just the plows that you see out on the streets," said Corren Johnson, director of the Department of Transportation. That program includes more than 300 people per shift, space for 15,000 tons of salt, and 36,000 gallons of brine. But Mayor Brandon Scott says half the battle is getting the city's snow team ready. The other half, making sure the people of Baltimore are prepared as well. "I encourage all residents to act now and assemble emergency supply kits f...
Billionaire hedge funder Bill Ackman on Friday vowed to pull his Pershing Square firm from the Euronext stock exchange in Amsterdam after sick soccer thugs ran amok to target Israeli fans in a string of anti-Semitic attacks in the Netherlands. Jew-hating agitators violently assaulted supporters of Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Dutch city before and during their game against elite club Ajax that saw more than 60 people arrested on Thursday night and left 10 people injured. Amsterdam’s mayor Femke Halsema said Maccabi’s traveling faithful had been “attacked, abused and pelted with fireworks” around the city by what she branded as “Antisemitic hit-and-run squads.” Ackman, who is Jewish, wrote on X that he would “seek approval” from Pershi...
President-elect Trump is set to meet President Biden at the White House next week following his decisive election victory over Vice President Harris.  The event will take place Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. EST, the White House announced Saturday in a statement. Traditionally, the visit is meant to signify a peaceful transfer of power between the incoming and outgoing president. The ritual was paused in 2020 amid Trump’s unsubstantiated claims that the election was stolen. The former president has not conceded his prior loss to Biden and did not attend the inauguration in 2021. Trump was declared the winner of the White House race earlier this week and went on to sweep the battleground states. Harris conceded&nbs...

Qatar will no longer serve as a diplomatic mediator between Israel and Hamas, a diplomatic source told AFP on Saturday. According to the source, Qatar has declared that "as long as there is a refusal to negotiate a deal in good faith," they cannot continue acting as mediator. The source added that, "as a consequence, the Hamas political office no longer serves its purpose." Another source told Reuters that Qatar will not serve as mediator until both sides show "sincere willingness" to return to the negotiating table. US and Qatari sources told CNN that in recent weeks Qatar agreed to remove Hamas from its territory, following a US request. The move aims to pressure the terror group to agree to a ceasefire-prisoner swap deal which will end the war in Gaza. ...

After leaving Mitzrayim and returning to Eretz C'na'an, the shepherds of Lot and Avraham engage in a dispute as the land they were occupying was not vast enough to accommodate all of them. The pasuk recounts (13:7) that there was a riv between the shepherds. When Avraham attempts to settle the dispute with Lot, he beseeches him, "Al na sehi merivah beini uveinecha." Avraham uses the word merivah, rather than riv, to refer to the dispute. Malbim explains that riv refers to the actual act of dispute, while merivah refers to the factors that caused the dispute. Avraham was indicating to Lot the cause for the friction between the shepherds. The country was surely large enough for both of them to settle peacefully. Howev...
