A new inspector general's report sheds light on millions paid out by Baltimore City to house the homeless during COVID-19.
The investigative reports suggests multiple entities were involved in carrying out the operation, but that may have led to money getting mixed up causing the City at times to fall millions in debt.
It all started in April 2020, when the City rented 123 rooms at a local hotel.
Per the contract, the hotel agreed to provide homeless occupants staying in the rooms three meals a day at a rate of $6 per.
Originally it was the hotel's job to send the City invoices for all costs accrued including meals and cleaning services.
In July 2022, the City signed on with a second shelter that would provide free mental health treatment and prescription management on the C...

The US lawyer Alan Dershowitz told i24NEWS' Hebrew channel anchor Danielle Roth-Avneri that "Israelis have to assume that [Vice President] Kamala Harris will be the next president of the United States."
Speaking to the "Morning Edition" program on Wednesday, he said that Harris won the debate with former president Donald Trump.
Israelis must plan for "the worst-case scenario," he said, adding that Israel must assume that support from the US will be reduced. The Jewish state must become "more self-reliant" than it would be in a Trump presidency.
Dershowitz said that he had left the Democratic Party after it had become "hijacked" by radical left-wing activists that are against Israel. "Many of them are pro-Hamas," he said.
He singled out Tim Walz, Harris's running mat...

A judge on Thursday threw out three charges in the sweeping Georgia election subversion case, including two charges that former President Donald Trump faces.
The decision hasn’t yet been formally applied to Trump because his case has been paused pending appeals.
In a separate ruling, Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee also upheld the marquee racketeering charge in the case, which Trump is also facing.
Trump lawyer Steve Sadow hailed the rulings as a victory.
“President Trump and his legal team in Georgia have prevailed once again,” Sadow said in a statement. “The trial court has decided that counts 15 and 27 in the indictment must be quashed/dismissed.”

Donald Trump appeared to definitely rule out another debate with Kamala Harris, a day after sending mixed signals following their clash in Philadelphia.
“Kamala should focus on what she should have done during the last almost four year period,” Trump wrote Thursday, in all caps, on social media. “There will be no third debate!”
Trump claimed he won the Tuesday debate with the vice president, through she was widely seen as having the better night. “When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, “I WANT A REMATCH,” he wrote.
Asked if Trump was in fact ruling out a debate, a spokeswoman said in an email, “You heard the man!”
Harris, meanwhile, again called for the candidates to meet ...

RAFAH, Gaza Strip — The Hamas terror group’s Rafah Brigade has been decimated, at least 2,308 of its operatives have been killed by the Israel Defense Forces, and over 13 kilometers (8 miles) worth of tunnels have been destroyed, military officials told reporters in the Gaza Strip’s southernmost city on Thursday.
Now, as the IDF maintains control of the entire city and the border area with Egypt, known as the Philadelphi Corridor, combat engineers are completing their investigations of a few dozen Hamas tunnels that have not yet been demolished, an operation that will not take longer than a few weeks.
With seemingly no hostage deal with the terror group on the horizon — under which the IDF would likely have to withdraw from the Gaza Strip, including the Philadelph...
