Following IDF and ISA intelligence indicating the presence of senior Hamas terrorists in the Shifa hospital, IDF and ISA forces conducting precise operational activity in the compound eliminated Faiq Mabhuoch, head of the Operations Directorate of Hamas' Internal Security. He was also responsible for the coordination of Hamas terrorist activities in the Gaza Strip. The IDF says Faiq Mabhouh was eliminated in an encounter with the troops while armed and hiding in a compound at the Shifa hospital, from which he operated and advanced terrorist activity. Numerous weapons were located in the room adjacent to where he was eliminated. The IDF overnight (Sunday) launched an operation in the Shifa Hospital based on intelligence information indicating the use of the hospital by senior Hamas...
Two of the most prominent kosher certification agencies in Canada are suing the national government, claiming that recent regulations around animal slaughter are putting the country’s kosher industry at risk. The Kashruth Council of Canada and the Jewish Community Council of Montreal, along with the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, an umbrella group representing Canada’s nearly 500,000 Jews, say in the suit that the enforcement of guidelines first introduced several years ago has led to a dramatic decline in the domestic production of kosher meat in the country. The suit was filed last week. “Since these new guidelines have gone into effect, the amount of kosher meat produced in Canada has decreased dramatically,” the three organizations said in a statement e...
Early on Monday morning a fire broke out in a two-story building in Kfar Saba, and three teams of firefighters were dispatched to the scene. According to Kikar Hashabbat, upon the teams' arrival at the scene, it was discovered that the fire had spread throughout the two-story building in the 'Ohev Zedek' synagogue. The Torah scrolls were successfully removed, in their entirety, although the site itself was almost completely burned. The removal was carried out by the fire and rescue teams, who went firstly to the Holy Ark in order to save the scrolls. "Israel Police during the early hours of the morning began investigating a suspicion of a fire which broke out in Kfar Saba, while cutting the window bars and examining the circumstances of the fire at the scene," a poli...
A Lebanese migrant who was caught sneaking over the border admitted he’s a member of Hezbollah, he hoped to make a bomb, and his destination was New York, The Post can reveal. Basel Bassel Ebbadi, 22, was caught by border patrol on March 9 near El Paso, Texas. While in custody he asked what he was doing in the US, to which he replied: “I’m going to try to make a bomb,” according to a Border Patrol document exclusively obtained by The Post. But Ebbadi later claimed in an interview that he had been trying to flee Lebanon and Hamas because he “didn’t want to kill people” and said “once you’re in in, you can never get out,” according to internal ICE documents. V’ha’ir Shushan Navocha The Jews of Shushan were confused. They considered Shushan and the Persian Empire their home and viewed themselves as central to its social and political structure. They knew Haman hated them, but they assumed the king would never adopt his genocidal suggestions. Haman was an extremist, but the Persian “mainstream” was tolerant and accepted the Jewish people. Achashveirosh invited them to his lavish party, where he served kosher food. How could he suddenly call for their annihilation? Like Yaakov’s family in Mitzrayim, Persian Jews contributed to society and thought they were safe. Sadly, like Yaakov’s family, they were suddenly targeted for persecution. For the first time since Egypt, the Jewish people were back in exile a...

Shas leader Aryeh Deri reportedly told Friday’s cabinet meeting that a delegation should not fly to Doha on Shabbat  for talks on a potential hostage and truce deal as it was not a case of pikuah nefesh, the Kan public broadcaster reports. Pikuah nefesh is the rabbinic principle that the preservation of life takes precedence over nearly everything, including the strictures governing Shabbat. According to the report, Deri said that the delegation should only depart once the security cabinet has met on Sunday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has denied reports that he sought to push off making a decision on the negotiating team’s mandate for the Doha talks, and refused to hold a meeting on Saturday on the matter, thereby apparently delaying the departure ...

Mossad Director David Barnea is expected to meet with the Prime Minister of Qatar in Doha on Sunday as part of the negotiations for a hostage deal, Reuters reported on Saturday. Egyptian officials are also expected to participate in the meeting. The Lebanese al-Akhbar newspaper reported that the first stage of the currently proposed deal would include a 42-day ceasefire, which in the second stage would become permanent. The terror organization is demanding that in the first stage, Israel would retreat from al-Rashid and Salah al-Din streets to allow the displaced Gazans to return to the northern Gaza Strip and to allow for aid to reach the north and for there to be freedom of movement. The newspaper also reported that Hamas is demanding the release of 50 terrorists, ...
Newly revealed documents obtained by Channel 12 shed light on the meticulous planning behind Hamas's devastating October 7 attack, implicating the group's third-ranking leader, Marwan Issa.  The documents, signed by Issa, outline a coordinated assault involving Hamas's elite Nukhba force targeting numerous Israeli communities and military bases. According to the seized documents, the assault was meticulously planned, involving 1,500-1,800 Nukhba operatives targeting 46 communities and military installations. Among the intended targets were sensitive sites such as the military intelligence Unit 8200 and the air force base at Hatzerim in southern Israel. While the operation aimed to strike these critical targets, the infiltrating Hamas forces, numbering around 3,000, u...
Hamas, the terrorist group governing the Gaza Strip, declared on Saturday that it would not release any hostages without securing an agreement on the second phase of a deal with Israel.  This announcement was made by a senior Hamas official, as reported by KAN. The second phase of the proposed agreement, according to Hamas, must involve the cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal of Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) troops from Gaza. Without these conditions being met, Hamas remains steadfast in its stance regarding the release of hostages. The statement comes amidst ongoing efforts to negotiate a temporary ceasefire and a hostage exchange deal between Israel and Hamas. Talks have been in a state of flux, with mediators seeking to bridge the gaps between the two sides. Efforts to r...
Protests erupted in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv on Saturday evening as demonstrators blocked major roads, demanding action on two fronts: the release of hostages held in Gaza and the call for early elections. The gatherings, marked by tension and clashes with law enforcement, underscored growing frustration with the government's handling of security issues and political stagnation. In Jerusalem, police forcibly removed dozens of protesters who had blocked the Paris Square intersection, chanting slogans demanding a resolution to the hostage crisis. As tensions escalated, law enforcement struggled to maintain order, resorting to physical force to clear the roadway. Journalists covering the scene were also forcefully directed away from the area. Meanwhile, in Tel Aviv, protesters took to t...
The pasuk (40:22) recounts the placing of the shulchan in the north before the placing of the menorah in the south. However, points out R' Chaim Brisker, the mishkan was arranged from the kodesh hakadashim and out, i.e. they began in the west and moved eastward. There is a general rule in matters pertaining to the holy service, kol pinos she'atah poneh, lo yehu ela derech yamin.(Sotah 15b and various other sources). This is to say that any time there is a choice between turning to the left or to the right, one must turn to the right. If so, when facing east, one should theoretically turn right to the south and place the menorah first and then place the shulchan in the north. R' Chaim answers that whe...
The Israel-Hamas war was the subject of the first major campaign speech for U.S. Senate candidate and former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan. Hogan appeared before the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington in Potomac. He talked about his past record defending Israel and condemning anti-Semitism, saying “the challenges that we confront today are far greater than we’ve faced over the past decade.” Hogan also talked about the response to the Oct. 7 attack and the Israel-Hamas war, saying the only way to achieve a cease-fire is for Hamas leaders “to immediately release every single one of those hostages” and to “bring them home.” “The way to solve this humanitarian crisis and achieve a cease-fire is for Hamas leaders to immediatel...
