G-D spoke to Moshe, saying: “Make a copper wash basin and its copper base for washing; and place it between the Tent of Meeting and the Altar, and put water in it. Aharon and his sons will wash from it their hands and their feet. Before entering the Tent of Meeting they must wash with water and they will not die, or whenever they approach the Altar for Divine service, or to burn a fire-offering to G-D. They must wash their hands and their feet and they will not die. This is a perpetual statute for them, for him [Aharon] and his descendants for all their generations (Shemos 30:17-21).”  G-D instructed Moshe to construct the Kiyor, the basin from which Aharon and his sons would wash their hands and feet prior to preforming the sacred avoda (sacrificial s...

The organization in question is the Lazarus Rite Foundation, led by Christopher Ervin, contracted for Mayor Brandon Scott’s Clean Corp initiative. The funding was meant for city cleaning efforts, but was instead used for unrelated business expenses and projects. Inspector General Isabel Cumming found that the funds were also used for unapproved expenditures. Despite efforts to recoup the loss, Lazarus Rite claims inability to repay. The Department of Planning asserts the seriousness of the matter and reserves the right for further action.Click here for a copy of the report

Baltimore, MD - Feb. 29, 2024 -  Several mayoral candidates want to put the brakes on Baltimore's bike lanes. "They need to be removed," insisted Wendell Freeman, a Democratic vying for the mayor's seat. "I think we need to rethink where we place these," said former mayor Sheila Dixon, who's also vying to regain the city's top job. Bike lanes have come under fire recently in communities where residents insist they had no input. In some neighborhoods, bike lanes have replaced vehicular lanes creating blocks of congested traffic. "We really do need to have some balance," said Republican Shannon Wright who's also vying for the mayor's seat. Outside a mayoral forum in West Baltimore Wednesday night, some candidates called for a moratorium on bike lanes....
Baltimore, MD - Feb. 29, 2024  - According to the study, 23 percent of below-basic third grade readers will likely drop out of high school. For comparison, nine percent of children with basic reading skills and four percent of proficient readers will likely drop out of high school. The report then looked at Maryland’s prison population and found 57 percent of inmates under age 25 were high school dropouts. “We want to make sure that we can get as many of our third graders reading by the end of the year as possible,” said Mitchell. If that’s the goal, the question then becomes, how is it accomplished? Dr. Carey Wright was appointed Interim State Superintendent of Schools by the Maryland State Board of Education in October 2023. The report then looked ...
On Thursday, Mayor Brandon Scott announced that the City of Baltimore joined a statewide settlement with Walmart to resolve claims regarding its role in the opioid crisis. The City's portion of the settlement is estimated to be just over $7.2 million. The City declined to sign onto the remaining global settlements in which Maryland agreed to participate, City officials say.
"The opioid epidemic, which was directly brought on by corporate greed and irresponsibility, has been disastrous for our great city and has plagued communities across the country,” said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “Walmart has reached this settlement in an effort to rectify the damage it has done, and with these funds, our City will be able to invest more in addressing the ongoing problem of ...
Dodging potholes could become a sport in Maryland, which ties with New Jersey to rank No. 8 in the country for axle-jarring craters, according to a new analysis of Google searches for pothole-related terms from USA Today. Potholes are formed when the top layer of pavement and the sub-base beneath can no longer support the weight of traffic. Small cracks expand over time, allowing water to seep in. Hitting a pothole can result in expensive repairs that insurance won’t always cover. USA Today based its analysis on Google Trends data from 2020 to 2023 for terms such as “pothole,” “potholes,” “pothole repair,” “pothole damage” and “pothole complaint.” Each term was given a search index number, which was then us...

We are preparing to act in Rafah, as well as in the central camps, in order to reach the next stage which we will decide according to our priorities,” Gallant said. He added, “We use the information we captured from the Hamas archives. There are huge amounts of information that we brought from the places we reached, computers, hard drives, servers and other things. All this information is decoded, it is used in order to destroy the tunnels and the nerve centers of Hamas." Gallant also said that "the network of tunnels that Hamas built is now being used by us in orde...
New York Attorney General Letitia James said she is investigating the recent cell service outage that hit thousands of AT&T customers last week. "Americans rely on cell service providers for consistent and reliable service to help them with nearly every aspect of their daily lives," James said. "Nationwide outages are not just an inconvenience, they can be dangerous, and it's critical that we protect consumers when an outage occurs." James encouraged affected New Yorkers to file a complaint with her office. James said her office will investigate the causes of the outage as well as AT&T's response. AT&T has apologized for the incident, which left people around the country without cellphone service for hours. A company spokesman said last week that the outage was c...
