Israel is creating a national plan to tackle the benefits and dangers posed by artificial intelligence, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“For several months now I have been formulating a national plan,” Netanyahu told the government at its weekly meeting on Wednesday.
“Soon I will appoint a project manager on the subject and I will also submit the national plan to the Government and the public,” he explained.

Jerusalem District Court Judge Aryeh Romanov has accepted the petition submitted about two weeks ago by the Me'uchadim municipal party led by Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem Aryeh King against the system of free shuttles on Shabbat operated by the city's Hitorerut party.
The judge ordered an immediate end to the operation of the shuttles and that King be paid NIS 7,500 for legal expenses.
"After weighing these competing considerations against each other, I came to the general conclusion that the considerations supporting the acceptance of the petition outweigh the considerations supporting its rejection. The result is that I decide to accept the petition and I order the respondent to immediately stop operating shuttles on Shabbat for free," stated the judge.

A partial government shutdown is days away as lawmakers remain divided over how to manage out of control spending in Washington.

In April 2021, then-Interior Minister Aryeh Deri initiated a program in which valuable coupons for food and other goods in supermarkets were distributed to underprivileged residents of Israel. Any resident receiving a discount on arnona (property tax) was automatically eligible for this program.

The Senate unanimously passed a resolution late Wednesday formalizing business attire as the proper dress code while on the floor of the chamber following bipartisan backlash, after Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., quietly relaxed dress requirements last week that allowed Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., to continue to wear hooded sweatshirts and gym shorts.
The bipartisan bill by Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, requires that members abide by a dress when on the Senate floor.
The new written rules include a coat, tie, and slacks for men. The resolution does not detail dress codes for women members.

Her primary job, and the task she took most seriously, was ensuring that every student had an on-site grandmother. How many times a day did she get up to get one of "her boys" some pretzels for a midday snack? How many hours spent sewing ripped pants and buttons back onto shirts? How many fights did she break up with her firm words but kind smile?

The Yom Kippur war merged tragedy and triumph, leaving us in a confusing state of sorrow mixed with joy. Initially stunned by a surprise attack, we courageously turned the tide, achieving daring victories on two fronts. Previous wars were easier to quantify and to comprehend. The Yom Kippur war was more puzzling, and still defies simple classification.
It is even more difficult to distill the religious meaning of this war. The War of 1948 established the first sovereign Jewish state in 1900 years. The unintended consequences of the Six-Day war returned us to our Biblical homeland and reunified Jerusalem. The hand of Hashem was readily apparent in each conflict.

Baltimore, MD - Sept. 27, 2023 - While GE appliances are not certified by STAR-K, we are providing this guidance as a service to consumers who may own this model.
In the course of recent STAR-K appliance lab testing, it has come to our attention that the GE Model JB258 electric oven has a serious issue with its uncertified Sabbath Mode feature. During testing, the electric heating element began to dim immediately when the oven door was opened.
HOW TO TEST:
Consumers may check whether they have this problem by conducting the following test:
Put the oven in Sabbath Mode.

Roughly one-third of Saudi Arabian citizens would approve of cooperation with Israeli technology companies as an initial step toward normalization with the Jewish state, according to a study published by the Washington Institute on Sept. 18.
The participants of the study were asked to express their degree of support for potential unilateral steps the kingdom could take toward normalizing relations with Israel.
