Baltimore, MD – May 25, 2023  - Here are a few suggestions to help one prepare for Yom Tov. Ensuring Safety: Ventilation and AppliancesYom Tov, unlike Shabbos, permits the kindling of a flame from a pre-existing one. This means that you can cook using your stove, as long as the flame was lit before the commencement of Yom Tov. However, this presents certain safety concerns.Leaving your stove on over Yom Tov requires careful consideration. In such cases, it's vital to ensure proper ventilation. If your stove is powered by gas, carbon monoxide - a deadly, odorless gas - can accumulate in your home if the room isn't well-ventilated.The best way to mitigate this risk is to leave a window partially open, which will allow fresh air to circulate. PA President Mahmoud Abbas’s accusation that America backed Israel’s creation to expel its Jews is outrageous, US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said on Wednesday as she denounced antisemitic and racist rhetoric fueling Israeli-Palestinian violence. Abbas’s “claim that the United States ‘wanted to get rid of the Jews and benefit from their presence in Palestine’ is totally without basis and it is deeply offensive to the American people,” Thomas-Greenfield told the Security Council during its monthly meeting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Thomas-Greenfield took issue in particular with the speech Abbas had delivered to the UN on May 15 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Nakba Day, which for Palestinians marks the catas...
Florida governor Ron DeSantis formally launched his presidential bid Wednesday night, with the Republican pledging to restore "sanity to our society" and lead a "great American comeback." DeSantis's message came in part through a one-minute launch video, during which the Florida governor hammered President Joe Biden for mishandling the southern border, crime, and the economy. That video's release preceded a virtual conversation between DeSantis and billionaire Twitter CEO Elon Musk, though technical issues plagued the conversation's start. Once the roughly hour-long discussion got under way, DeSantis highlighted his legislative accomplishments in Florida as a blueprint to replicate nationwide, and defended himself on hot-button issues such as his battle with Disney. ...

London’s Metropolitan police force also confirmed it was “in receipt of information” passed onto them from the Cabinet Office on May 19 relating to breaches of health regulations during the same time frame a...

The defense establishment stated: "The aerial platform 'Tal Shemayim' is the first system of its kind in the world. The system is still in the process of deployment and integration shared by the Air Force and the Directorate for Research and Development of Weapons and ...
Attorneys for Donald Trump complained to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday that the former president is being treated unfairly in the Department of Justice’s investigations into Trump by special counsel Jack Smith, and they requested a meeting with Garland. Smith, appointed by Garland in November, is overseeing investigations into Trump’s handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and on allegations Trump tried to overthrow the 2020 presidential election result. In a letter addressed to Garland dated Tuesday, attorneys John Rowley III and James Trusty wrote they are representing the former president “in the investigation currently being conducted by the Special Counsel’s Office.” “Unlike President Bide...
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett achieved his first victory in a series of defamation lawsuits after a rabbi apologized for falsely accusing Bennett of not being Jewish. During a hearing at the Magistrate's Court, Rabbi Ronen Shaulov stated: "During the year 2022, I published against the former Prime Minister, Mr. Naftali Bennett, and against his mother, Ms. Myrna Bennett, information that I received, which later turned out to be incorrect - that the Jewishness of Mr. Bennett's late father, Mr. Jim Bennett, and that of his mother, Mrs. Myrna Bennett, is in doubt. "After an investigation, I would like to emphasize that these things are false," Rabbi Shaulov added. ''These things said by me reached a wide circulation. I regret saying these things and apologize from...
