"Globes" finds that most Israeli tech firms are laying off juniors as well as HR, marketing and sales staff, with overseas offices bearing the brunt of the cuts. Rizak Habib-Allah, a 34 year old automation engineer was fired two weeks ago by software company OwnBackup in Tel Aviv, after just seven months in the job. "It was unexpected and I was totally unready for it," he told "Globes." Habib-Allah was given notice of only a week's pay to organize his thoughts and prepare for the new situation. "Since then I've received several calls from placement companies but nothing has developed into a serious process. The job market is very bad - because so many companies are laying off, and on the other hand, only a few of them are hiring." Habib-Allah would be an ideal job candidate in...
The Iranian regime’s commander of the Revolutionary Guards in the province of Isfahan said on Sunday that the theocratic state seeks to kidnap Benjamin Netanyahu and bring him to the Islamic Republic as a slave. Iranian-regime-controlled Bahar News reported that Mojtaba Fada, the commander of Isfahan’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said that “the former prime minister of the Zionist regime hoped that the protests in Iran would lead him to travel to Tehran [in a post-protest, Mullah-free Iran], but Gd willing, the Islamic Republic will prevail [and quash the protests, once again taking charge of the country] and will frog march that prime minister to Iran wearing a leash and a slave collar." Fada also urged the destruction of the Jewish state, calli...
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a Monday interview that he believes Randi Weingarten, the head of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) union, is the “most dangerous person in the world.”  In an interview with Semafor, Pompeo, who is thought to be eyeing a potential 2024 White House bid, said that education is one of the central issues that Republicans should focus on, noting his criticism of Weingarten and the current teaching curriculum in U.S. school systems.  “I tell the story often — I get asked ‘Who’s the most dangerous person in the world? Is it Chairman Kim, is it Xi Jinping?’ The most dangerous person in the world is Randi Weingarten,” Pompeo said.  “It’s not a close...
'The Iranian attack on a tanker transiting international waters was deliberate, flagrant, and dangerous' The U.S. 5th Fleet on Tuesday confirmed that the drone used in the November 15 attack on an Israeli tanker off the coast of Oman was an Iranian-made "Shahed-136" suicide drone. Last week, a self-destructing drone attacked the Pacific Zircon – a Liberian-flagged tanker associated with an Israeli billionaire – while carrying gas and oil. In a statement, the United States Navy said it "confirmed Iran's connection" to the attack. "Two U.S. Navy explosive ordnance technicians boarded Pacific Zircon... to assess the damage and collect unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) debris fragments for forensic analysis. During a two-hour survey and evidence...
The United Torah Judaism party announced Tuesday morning that it has suspended coalition talks with the Likud. The haredi faction said it will not resume negotiations until it receives “clarification” regarding the distribution of ministerial positions in the next government, accusing the Likud’s negotiating team of unfairly allocating portfolios. In a statement Tuesday, UTJ noted that Shas appears poised to receive no less than five major ministerial positions, while none have yet been offered to UTJ. On Monday night, talks between Shas and the Likud were cut short, when Shas chairman Aryeh Deri rushed to Mayanei HaYeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak, after Rabbi Shimon Baadani, a member of Shas’ rabbinic council, was hospitalized. An official from UTJ told ...
Governor-elect Wes Moore spoke to C4 and Bryan Nehman Tuesday morning and said Marylanders don't have to worry about him raising taxes once he's in office. Moore says he plans to move forward with being fiscally smart in Maryland, which does not include raising taxes. "I don't think that's necessary," Moore said about raising taxes. He said Maryland needs to invest in things like transportation infrastructure and schools, and focus on business growth in Maryland to become more competitive and equitable. Moore said the state already has money from the private sector and federal dollars earmarked to achieve those goals.

A Canadian lawmaker has issued a statement apologizing for comments he made in an August 2021 interview with the Ottawa Forum on Israel/Palestine that included what he termed as an "antisemitic stereotype". "I would like to apologize unreservedly to the Jewish community for comments I made," Joel Harden, who represents Ottawa Centre in the Ontario provincial government, said in the statement released Sunday and quoted by CBC News. "I spoke in a way that perpetrated an antisemitic stereotype towards Jewish neighbors. I regret my choice of words and sincerely apologize to the Jewish community," added Harden, a member of the New Democratic Party (NDP). The interview with forum chair Peter Larson was posted online last summer, but resurfaced on social media recently and drew criticism....
Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said that Iran has enough enriched uranium to have more than one nuclear bomb. Speaking to 60 Minutes’ Lesley Stahl in an interview which aired Sunday, Grossi also reiterated that there is no indication that Iran currently has a nuclear weapons program. “At the current level of production of this enriched uranium, Iran has accumulated already enough material to have more than one device, if they chose to do that. But we don't have any information that would indicate that Iran has a nuclear weapon program at the moment,” he said. Asked by Stahl whether “we reached the point of no return with Iran? Is it time to just admit they're a nuclear power?" Grossi replied, “No,...
The Baltimore City Council on Monday voted to allow council members to become eligible for pensions after they served for eight years. The council came to a decision on the measure just before 6 p.m. The final vote was 8-5 with two abstentions. The vote is in response to a term limit question passed earlier this month. It limited members of the council, along with the mayor and comptroller, to just two four-year terms. Council members were originally eligible for pensions after they served for twelve years. Jovani Patterson, leader of People for Elected Accountability and Civic Engagement, called on Mayor Brandon Scott to veto the bill.

'Women will not be told where they are allowed and where they are not allowed to stand,' says Yair Lapid Israel's outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid accused the incoming government on Monday of forgetting that the country is not a "halachic state," meaning a nation that follows strict Jewish law.  This comes amid requests from the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism party and the far-right Religious Zionism party to legalize gender segregation, a practice deemed discriminatory.  While speaking at a meeting of his centrist Yesh Atid party, Lapid pointed to said requests and commented that “the State of Israel is a Jewish state, not a halachic state,” referring to halacha, Jewish religious law. “Women will not be told where they are...
A federal judge on Monday denied a motion to quash a subpoena from former White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who is trying to avoid giving a deposition in a lawsuit alleging the Biden administration conspired with Big Tech to silence conservative criticism on social media. Ms. Psaki had filed a motion in an Alexandria, Virginia, federal court to quash the subpoena, arguing the deposition would place an undue burden on her and that she had no information to share. The judge disagreed. “As discussed, Psaki’s reasons for having to prepare for and give the deposition are not undue burdens. Second, because there is no undue burden, there is no irreparable harm to Psaki,” wrote U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty of the Western District of Louisiana. Mr. Bi...
Members of a key rail union voted to reject a tentative contract agreement negotiated by the Biden administration, raising the risk of a strike that would shut down the nation’s railroads.  Train and engine workers at the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers’s transportation division (SMART-TD) narrowly voted down the deal, the union announced Monday.  The vote sets the stage for a walkout in early December, in the middle of the holiday shopping season that demands increased shipping volume. Railroads transport around one-third of U.S. freight, including large amounts of food, packaged goods, fuel and car parts that can’t be shipped by other means.  “This can all be settled through negotiations and without a strike,&rdqu...
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is closing the once-yawning polling gap with former President Trump as he inches closer to a 2024 White House bid. A new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey shared exclusively with The Hill on Monday put DeSantis’s growing strength into stark relief: Since last month, the Florida governor’s standing in a hypothetical 2024 Republican primary improved by 11 points, bringing him up to 28 percent. Trump’s support, meanwhile, plummeted 9 points to 46 percent. While he still holds a double-digit lead over DeSantis, the poll marks a drastic shift in the former president’s political strength as he embarks on his third campaign for the White House in six years. “Month after month DeSantis has been rising and now he is cutting sign...
Players stay silent before their first game of the tournament against England Iran's players stayed silent during the playing of their country's national anthem on Monday before their first game against England for the World Cup in Qatar. The players stood stone-faced as the camera panned on each of their faces ahead of the match against England, which they eventually lost by a final score of 6-2. The move was apparently to show solidarity with ongoing protests in Iran against the regime in Tehran. Ahead of the game in Qatar, captain Alireza Jahanbakhsh said the team would decide together whether or not to refuse to sing the anthem in a show of solidarity for demonstrations that have rocked the regime in Iran. The Iranian players stood impassively and grim-faced as t...
