The Islamic Jihad terrorist organization has agreed to a ceasefire with Israel, multiple Arab media outlets reported Sunday evening.
The ceasefire is set to go into effect at 11:30 p.m., according to the reports.
The Lebanon-based Al-Mayadeen televisions channel cited two sources who said that Islamic Jihad has accepted an Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire with Israel.
Muhammad al-Hindi, the chief of Islamic Jihad’s political department, said that the organization had agreed to the “formula” put forth by Egypt.
"A formula for the Egyptian declaration of the truce agreement was reached, including Egypt's commitment to work for the release of the two prisoners, al-Saadi and Awawda."

Senate Democrats have passed their sweeping tax, healthcare and climate change legislation after a marathon night of voting, with Vice President Harris casting the decisive vote to break a 50-50 deadlock and the package to the House.
The long-awaited $740 billion bill that would raise taxes on corporations, tackle climate change, lower prescription drug costs and reduce the deficit.

MK Waleed Taha (Ra’am) blasted the Israeli government over the military operation it is conducting in the Gaza Strip against the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization.
In a post in Arabic on Facebook, Taha wrote that the "policy of assassinations, repression and aggression" of all Israeli governments "will not bring security and stability to the region".
Taha pointed out that instead of the "policy of blood", the Israeli government should act to end the occupation, lift the blockade and provide security conditions for all the peoples of the region.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Saturday warned Israel against making a “miscalculation” towards Lebanon similar to the one he said it has made towards Gaza.
“We in Hezbollah are following up on what’s happening hour by hour and we’re in constant contact with our dear brothers in the leadership of the Islamic Jihad movement. We’re also in contact with our brothers in the leadership of the Hamas movement and the rest of the Palestinian factions,” Nasrallah said in a sermon, according to the Lebanese Naharnet news website.

Prime Minister Yair Lapid will on Sunday hold a security update meeting with opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu, following the escalation and Operation Breaking Dawn.
Prime Minister Lapid's office issued a statement saying that it initiated the conversation with Netanyahu.
Netanyahu's office presented a message, from which it appears that Netanyahu's chief of staff sent a text message at 2:13 p.m. to the Prime Minister's military secretary, Avi Gil, and asked him for a security update.

Daoud Shehab, spokesman for the Islamic Jihad, places full responsibility on Israel for the recent escalation and claims that, before the Israeli attack, his organization was ready to discuss the mediation proposals submitted by Egypt.
Speaking on Friday with the Israeli Arab Nasradio, which broadcasts from Nazareth, Shehab said that Israel attacked civilian facilities and tried to put obstacles before the Egyptian mediation efforts even though the Islamic Jihad responded positively to them.
Shehab claimed that Israel is interested in an escalation and aggression for political reasons because of the elections, as reflected in other measures, such as preventing the passage of fuel to the Gaza Strip for several days and the closing of the crossings.

Islamic Jihad confirmed early Sunday morning that Khaled Mansour, the leader of the organization's southern division, was eliminated in an IDF attack in the Gaza Strip.
Also eliminated in the attack was Ziad Al-Mudallal, the son of the senior Islamic Jihad leader Ahmad al-Mudallal.
Meanwhile, the IDF continued to strike terrorist targets in Gaza early Sunday morning. This came following a barrage of rockets that was fired at southern Israel overnight.
Over the years, Mansour was involved in dozens of incidents of rocket fire, mortar bombs and anti-tank missiles. During Operation Guardian of the Walls, he was responsible for hundreds of rocket launches towards Israel.

Heavy rains that could dump several inches of rain and produce flooding over already waterlogged ground could arrive in the Baltimore-DC region late Friday afternoon and evening.
"Slow moving thunderstorms will result in areas of heavy rain this afternoon and evening," the National Weather Service said Friday. "Localized totals of 3 inches or greater are possible in spots. A few instances of flash flooding are likely, especially in urban areas."
