It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Yaakov Rajchenbach zt”l following an illness.
Reb Yaakov, who resided in Chicago, Illinois, was one of the noted machzikei Torah of the Olam HaTorah, a noted baal chesed who was involved in torchei tzibbur for decades.
Humble, self-effacing, with a heart the encompassed all of Klal Yisroel, Reb Yaakov was a one-of-a-kind mokir rabbonon, machzik Torah, and baal chesed. His petirah is a tremendous loss for the greater Torah world and leaves a gaping void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Reb Yaakov humbly agreed to serve on various boards of mosdos haTorah v’hachesed in order to help in any way he could....

אלה הדברים — These are the words...
So begins Moshe’s last powerful and heartfelt message to his beloved people prior to his final departure.
An enigmatic Midrash states the following:
If one wants to fathom [the concept of the notion that] Pinchos is Eliyahu, one should see [these words] אלה הדברים — These are the words.
The Second Rebbe of Modzitz, Rav Shaul Yedidya Elazar Taub, offers a fascinating interpretation of this cryptic statement. (ישא ברכה)
The Holy Arizal taught that each of the Jewish months correspond to specific limbs of our body. The months of Tamuz and Av match with the right and left eye respectively.

Be cautious when traveling through the area.
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
It is extremely important to note that the rule for when traffic lights are out is that one must come to a *complete stop at intersections or roadways where the traffic lights are not on.*
*You must treat the light as a stop sign.*
If it is a four-way intersection, you must treat it as a four-way stop. The same rule applies to other roadways that have a light that is out.

Imagine for a moment living in a world that has no words. It’s kind of hard to imagine, I know. But think about it. In a world with no words, you wouldn’t be able to talk or read. Words help us communicate, explain things, and relate to each other. In a world with no words, all of these important things would be severely reduced. Communication with other humans would be limited to body language and possibly sonar. Huh? I’m kidding, sonar would still be reserved for dolphins.
On the flip side, in a world with no words, we wouldn’t talk negatively or speak badly about others. In a world with no words, Lashon Harah wouldn’t exist. And if Lashon Harah didn’t exist, we would likely not have gone into galus, exile.

In light of the intensifying situation in the Gaza Strip - Israel's largest fully volunteer EMS organization, United Hatzalah, has raised the preparedness level of its volunteers across the country. Thousands of volunteers living in and around areas that are under threat of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip have been told to be prepared for any and all emergencies and to have all medical equipment at the ready. Among other things, volunteers have been told to unpack and prepare bulletproof vests and helmets while additional medical supplies, vests, and helmets are being distributed in the southern region and the Gaza periphery.

Federal health authorities are expected to soon ease COVID-19 guidelines for schools in Maryland and nationwide, according to a new report.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention could announce the changes in the coming days, CNN reported. The CDC is expected to ease guidelines that address screening for the virus, as well as social distancing recommendations.
Regular COVID-19 screening in schools will likely be de-emphasized and the new measures are expected to loosen quarantine guidelines for those exposed to the virus, according to a preview of the plan obtained by CNN. The agency also reportedly plans to de-emphasize the 6-foot social distancing rule.

IDF announces attacks against targets in Gaza strip. Emergency situation declared on the home front.
The IDF Spokesperson has announced that the name of the operation against Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist targets is Operation "Breaking Dawn."
Reports from Gaza allege that the IDF has assassinated a senior Islamic Jihad commander who was driving his car at the time of the attack.
The terrorist is commander of the Islamic Jihad military forces in Gaza Tayseer al-Jabari.
Five military positions of the organization have also been attacked by Israel.

The U.S. economy added a robust 528,000 jobs in July, the Labor Department said Friday, returning payrolls to their prepandemic level. The jobless rate dropped to 3.5%.
Businesses have continued to hire despite two straight quarters of economic contraction, cooling consumer spending and rising risks of a recession. Overall employment also has nearly returned to prepandemic levels. But demand for workers is cooling as the economy transitions away from the red-hot expansion that followed the elimination of Covid-19-related restrictions on business activity.
Some companies such as Walmart Inc. and Robinhood Markets Inc. are cutting staff, but overall layoffs are slowly rising, according to weekly unemployment claims.

Trump-endorsed former newscaster Kari Lake, a leading proponent of the former president’s election conspiracy theories in Arizona, has won the GOP nomination to be the state’s next governor.
Lake defeated a Republican field that included Karrin Taylor Robson, a real estate developer and former member of the state board of regents whose supporters included term-limited GOP Gov. Doug Ducey and former Vice President Mike Pence.

The Protective Strings Initiative is a campaign to inspire and facilitate the performance of the Mitzvah of Tzitzit.It was founded in 2021 by Benyamin Balakhani, a young father and member of Kehillas Ohr Yisrael Baltimore. He was inspired about the Mitzvah of Tzitzis after hearing a story from a Rav who distributed FREE PAIRS OF TZITZIS to campers because of the protection they offer during the 3 Weeks.
