The European Commission recently released a report which showed that antisemitic content on several platforms surged during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in French and German.
Researchers at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), an anti-extremism nonprofit, looked at content on Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram and found a seven-fold increase of French-language anti-Semitic content in January and February this year, compared to the same time last year. In German, the researchers found a 13-fold increase in anti-Semitic content, reported Politico.
Antisemitic posts across the major platforms were liked, shared, or commented upon billions of times.

Use of fur for religious practices and clothing are exempted from the ruling
Israel announced a ban Wednesday on the sale of fur in the fashion trade, winning applause from the International Anti-Fur Coalition as the "first entire nation" to impose such a ban.
"Commerce in animal fur, imports and exports, will be banned except for the needs of research, study or certain religious traditions," the environment ministry said.

Italian police have dismantled an online neo-Nazi group spreading anti-Semitic and racist propaganda that urged young people to perpetrate acts of violence against Jews and immigrants, reported Deutsche Welle.
Italian postal police and Carabinieri police stated that the arrested individuals were between the ages of 26 and 62.

The 58th Annual Siyum Mishnayos al shem Harav Yehoshua Silbermintz zt”l and the annual Shas Awards Presentation took place simultaneously on Sunday, June 6th, at Agudas Yisroel Beis Binyomin.
Due to the current situation, this year’s Siyum was held in a much smaller setting than usual. The White House has reached an agreement with Pfizer and BioNTech to provide 500 million doses of coronavirus vaccine to about 100 countries over the next two years, a pact that President Biden plans to announce as early as Thursday, according to multiple people familiar with the plan.

While excavating an ancient cesspit dating from the Islamic period (about 1,000 years ago), Israel Antiquities Authority archaeologists in Yavne were astonished to find an unbroken chicken’s egg. The large-scale archaeological excavations, directed by Dr. Elie Haddad, Liat Nadav-Ziv and Dr. Jon Seligman, have discovered an extensive and diverse industrial area dating from the Byzantine period. Fires have broken out across the country in recent days - common during Israel's summer heat
Firefighters battled wildfires raging to the west of Jerusalem throughout Wednesday, with 11 aircraft and 29 response teams deployed.
At the time of publication, the fires are ongoing with the blaze approaching homes in Yad HaShmona and Abu Gosh, and residents evacuated from the kibbutz of Ma'ale HaHamisha.
The blaze is understood to have started in two separate locations, near the towns of Neve Ilan and Abu Gosh, The Jerusalem Post (JP) reported.

Travel warnings eased for Japan, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, South Korea
The United States on Tuesday eased its warnings against travel to a number of major nations including Olympics host Japan, raising hopes that widespread vaccinations will bring a return to normal travel.
Close US allies and neighbors including Canada, Mexico, France and Germany also received upgrades, with the State Department asking Americans to reconsider travel but ending its blanket advice not to go at all.

In Bamidbar 17:1 we see that Korach decided to fight regarding the Kehuna. The Gemara in Horiyus 28b says that from the word “vekidashto” we learn that one has to give precedence to a Kohen regarding any davar shebikdusha. The Kohen bentches and gets the first portion etc.
