The anomaly of the ‘Rebellious Son’, a child who has exhibited, between the young age of thirteen and thirteen and three months, seemingly irreparable errant behavior, who is condemned to death, leaves us wondering.
The Talmud teaches that although at this juncture he hasn’t yet committed any capital crimes, nevertheless, it would be best to dispatch with him while he is relatively innocent before he becomes extremely guilty. His petty thievery and indulgent habits will no doubt cause him to evolve into a menace who will terrorize the populace with more heinous crimes.
Yet there is one caveat to the justice system’s attempt to ‘save him from himself’. Only if the parents ‘grasp him and take him out to the elders of his city’...

Breaking: The NYPD Hate Crimes Unit has made an arrest in the violent attack on 63-year-old Avraham Gopin in Crown Heights.
The NYPD has made an arrest in the violent attack on a 63-year-old man in Crown Heights, COLlive has learned.
The incident took place in August when Rabbi Avraham Gopin was attacked by a man who threw a large brick at him as he exercised in Lincoln Terrace Park.
The suspect was located by the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit, District Attorney Eric Gonzalez has informed Chanina Sperlin of the CHJCC.
He was then picked up by detectives from the 77th Precinct.
Oniel Gilbourne, 26, faces assault as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
The suspect is currently hospitalized.

In this week’s parshah, we are told about the prohibition of taking an ownerless mother bird when it is sitting on its eggs or young (22:6). Directly after that, the Torah relays the commandment to build a protective fence on the roof of one’s home. Immediately following this, the Torah forbids a Jew from crossbreeding two different species of produce in one’s field or allowing two different species of animal to pull one plow at the same time. After that, the Torah discusses the commandment to tie tzitzis to any four cornered garment.

BALTIMORE, MD — Traffic is expected to be so heavy in downtown Baltimore Thursday, Sept. 12, that transportation officials are encouraging people to avoid some areas altogether. Congestion, road closures and delays are possible from 4 to 8:30 p.m.
President Donald Trump will head to Baltimore Thursday to deliver an address at the GOP conference. The event will be at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront hotel on Aliceanna Street in Harbor East. It is organized by the Congressional Institute and House Republican Conference.
Those downtown after 4 p.m. should avoid the area south of Baltimore Street between Martin Luther King Boulevard and Central Avenue, the Baltimore Department of Transportation advised.

Parshat Ki Teitzei presents a seemingly harsh set of guidelines for inclusion within the Jewish people. Marriage is strictly limited to pedigreed Jews and, additionally, not all races are granted access into Judaism. Certain nationalities, such as Amon and Moav, are completely excluded based on past national misdeeds. Other nationalities such as the Egyptians are allowed to convert but must undergo a three-generation transitional period before marriage with fully pedigreed Jews is licensed. Full membership within the Jewish nation isn’t inclusive, but severely restricted.

I write this with thanks to the Ribbono Shel Olam, to be able to write it, and not be written about!
As we were dispatched to the Twin Towers for a fire, not knowing what we were getting in to, I rode in the Hatzoloh ambulance to Manhattan. We were able to clearly see the upper portion of the towers on fire from the Prospect Expway on the way into the Battery Tunnel.
As we got out of the tunnel and turned on to West St. I saw body parts all over the street. I saw a part of the airplane, it looked like a engine behind a burned car. As we got closer, we were told to park the ambulance right near the towers. I think we were originally right behind the towers. TOWSON, Md. (WBFF) - Non-air-conditioned facilities and schools in the Baltimore County Public Schools system will be closed Thursday, Sept. 12.
The school system announced it's closing the non-air-conditioned facilities "due to impending excessive heat."

New York – In a since deleted tweet, the NY Times said “airplanes took aim” at the Twin Towers of New York City’s World Trade Center.
In a shocking display of insensitivity to all the victims and families affected by this heinous act of terrorism, the Times deliberately worded their story to blame ‘airplanes’ for the attack. The story did not mention that the planes that hit the towers were hijacked by terrorists from al-Qaeda.
The Times since pulled the offensive tweet, and tweeted “We’ve deleted an earlier tweet to this story and have edited for clarity. The story has also been updated.”
Many Twitter users refused to let the Times off the hook, and screenshots of the original tweet were widely distributed.

Baltimore’s Department of Transportation is encouraging downtown workers to begin their afternoon commute early Thursday, as President Donald Trump’s scheduled visit to the city is expected to cause traffic congestion.
Because of heavy traffic volumes expected from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Baltimore, the department suggested workers begin to leave for home before 4 p.m. to avoid delays. Some intersections may be temporarily closed in the afternoon and early evening hours, the department said in a statement. Traffic enforcement officers will work to help move traffic, the department said.
The department also advised people to use public transportation Thursday, especially if they are planning to attend the 7:05 p.m. Orioles game against the Dodgers.

A man whose mother is a 9/11 victim ripped Rep. Ilhan Omar for describing the terror attacks as “some people did something” during the annual anniversary ceremony at Ground Zero on Wednesday.
Nicholas Haros Jr., wearing a black T-shirt with the words “Some people did something?,” singled out the congresswoman and the other members of “the Squad” after reading the names of the dead, including his mother’s, Frances Haros, at the ceremony.

BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan sent a letter criticizing Baltimore's crime-fighting strategy as too "status quo," and saying the state could give Baltimore an extra $21 million only if it sends "acceptable" measures and reports on reducing violent crime.
Mayor Jack Young appealed to Hogan for help this summer, amidst a surge in murders and other violence in the city.
"While we are committed to continuing to provide the city with unprecedented state support, the people of Baltimore City want and deserve results from their own city leaders," he wrote.
He said the state is prepared to give $21 million in state funding, which includes $7 million requested by Young and Harrison in an Aug. 23 meeting.
