President Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani shares his thoughts on Robert Mueller’s upcoming testimony on Capitol Hill on ‘Hannity.’
Berlin - German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she was “working through” a bout of shaking that first occurred in mid-June and struck for the third time on Wednesday, though she insisted she was fine and that “just as it happened one day, so it will disappear.” Merkel earlier shook back and forth as she stood outside and looked uncomfortable as she watched a military ceremony marking the arrival of visiting Finnish Prime Minister Antti Rinne, who stood by her side. After the first shaking episode, when she met visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on June 18, Merkel said she felt better after drinking some water. “I am fine,” Merkel told a news conference after Wednesday’s meeting with Rinne. “I have recently said that I am worki...
Nevada - A powerful July 4 earthquake in the Southern California desert may have killed a man in neighboring Nevada, authorities said Tuesday. It would be the first death linked to the magnitude 6.4 quake near Ridgecrest that was felt far and wide. The Nye County Sheriff’s Department said deputies on Tuesday found a 56-year-old man pinned under a Jeep in Pahrump, about 150 miles (241 kilometers) from the quake’s epicenter. The man was last seen alive at a local gas station the day before the earthquake. It is believed the man was working on the Jeep, which apparently fell off of its jacks when the quake hit, Sgt. Adam Tippets said. The man’s name wasn’t immediately released. No other deaths or serious injuries have been linked to the quake or to a magnitude 7....
Former state assemblyman Dov Hikind (D) and congressional candidate Joseph Saladino announced lawsuits this week against  freshman Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over being blocked from her personal Twitter account. In an interview with Fox News, Hikind pointed to a recent court ruling declaring that President Trump is not allowed to block critics from his official Twitter account because of his status as a public official as legal precedent for his claim. “Just today the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a ruling that elected officials cannot block individuals from their Twitter accounts, thereby setting a precedent that Ocasio-Cortez must follow,” Hikind told the network. “Twitter is a public space, and all should have access to the governm...
LONDON (AP) — Britain’s ambassador to the United States resigned Wednesday, just days after diplomatic cables criticizing President Donald Trump caused embarrassment to two countries that often celebrate having a “special relationship.” The resignation of Kim Darroch came a day after Trump lashed out at him on Twitter describing him as “wacky” and a “pompous fool” after leaked documents revealed the envoy’s dim view of Trump’s administration. “I am grateful to all those in the UK and the US, who have offered their support during this difficult few days,” Darroch said in a letter. “This has brought home to me the depth of friendship and close ties between our two countries. I have been deeply touched.” Pr...
LINTHICUM, Md. (WBAL & AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration is going to reconsider its position challenging Maryland over new flight patterns and the noise they bring residents near Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. The FAA filed a motion Tuesday to hold Maryland's case in abeyance while it reconsiders. In September, the FAA wrote a letter to the state declining to respond to a petition asking for more review of the flight patterns. Maryland Attorney Brian Frosh said he's hopeful the FAA will undertake a thorough review of the facts and ultimately lead to changes in flight paths. Gov. Larry Hogan said his administration remains committed to restoring the quality of life for residents who live around the state'...

Baltimore, MD, July 10, 2019 — The Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), representing over 1000 traditional rabbis in matters of public policy, today defended Israel’s Education Minister Rabbi Rafi Peretz after he referred to assimilation and intermarriage in the American Jewish community as being “like a second Holocaust.” Liberal Jewish leaders responded with outrage, calling this “contempt” for the Holocaust, or even “Holocaust denial.” “Rabbi Peretz did not fabricate the statistics,” said Rabbi Pesach Lerner, President of the CJV. “The Holocaust was a horrific physical destruction of our people, while intermarriage and assimilation are causing a spiritual destruction, a loss of Jewish continuity for countless families. The...
BALTIMORE — Baltimore City officials are entering paper parking citations into the electronic system, and it's time for offenders to pay up. Baltimore City Councilman Eric Costello posted on his Facebook page that there is a significant backlog for the data entry of paper parking citations that were issued during the city's computer outage due to a ransomware attack. The city has been issuing paper citations since May 6. "Any citation issued since May 6 will ultimately appear in the system, but it may take some time," Costello wrote. Offenders are advised not to pay citations or request trials via mail until the citation appears online. "The clock does not start to run for penalties and trial requests until a citation is entered into system," Costello wro...
BALTIMORE — Several busy roads in downtown Baltimore remain closed Tuesday and a portion of Light Rail service is suspended. The closures are making for a big inconvenience, whether you're using public transportation or trying to drive. Work continues on Pratt Street after a series of events including a water main break and heavy downpours that led to an underground vault collapsing. Various city agencies met Tuesday afternoon to determine what the next steps will be, and one thing is for certain -- it's going to take some time. Passengers at the Camden Yards Light Rail Station, who were bused there to begin with, faced additional hurdles. It was a long day at work followed by a long walk home from work for Stacey Whye and Cheryl Alleyne. "I w...

Let me be the first to admit that I am not a math person, yet, unfortunately, it seems that right now my life has been all about numbers. For those of you who have been spared the pain that has devastated klal yisroel since mid-June, let me fill you in on what has been taking place in Jewish communities all over the United States. Over a three week period, drug overdoses killed nine of our own, with six more remaining in comas as I write these words. Another 17 overdoses had more positive outcomes, baruch Hashem, with Narcan successfully reviving those victims, but without proper treatment I can’t honestly tell you that any of those individuals are really out of the woods. Without fail, every time I share statistics like this, I get flak from people who suggest that I am making a c...

The Hague - A Dutch court has cleared the way for a monument to be built in Amsterdam commemorating victims of the Holocaust. Tuesday’s decision ends a legal fight by a group of local residents to block construction of the memorial, which will include the names of 102,000 Jews, Roma and Sinti who were murdered in Nazi concentration camps during World War II. Amsterdam Municipality granted permission for construction to start in 2017, but residents argued in court that it was too big for the location and could cause traffic and social problems. The court has ruled that the city weighed up both sides of the argument and was entitled to issue the construction permit.
San Francisco - Twitter now prohibits hate speech that targets religious groups by using dehumanizing language, a ban it says may extend to other categories like race and gender. The social network already bars hateful language directed at individual religious adherents. It also bans hate speech on the basis of someone’s race, gender and other categories. Tuesday’s change broadens the hate speech rule to forbid likening entire religious groups to subhumans or vermin, without targeting a specific individual. Twitter, along with YouTube and Facebook, has been under fire for the prevalence of harassment and hate on its service. Twitter’s latest update came after users wrote in thousands of responses when the company asked for suggestions on how to expand its hate speech po...
