The time has come for the international community to recognize Yerushalayim as Israel’s capital, the Jewish state’s UN envoy said in a letter to the president of the Security Council.

Jerusalem - After operating for more than a century, the iconic Lendner Bakery in Jerusalem’s Mea She’arim quarter has closed.
A notice posted on the doors of the landmark bakery at the corner of Leib Dayan Street and Moshe Dov Lendner Street said: “The Lendner Bakery, which was established by Rav Moshe Dov Lendner in 1896, is closing its doors after 123 years of a family tradition of baking, helping others and supporting the community, which was passed down from father to son.”
The note continued: “We thank our steadfast and faithful customers for the trust they placed in us for all these years.” The bakery, named for its founder, was best known for its Shabbat and holidays challah loaves.

New York - Wherever CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta goes, he’s followed by the g-word, grandstand. He even heard it when he met Ted Olson, the former U.S. solicitor general who was part of the legal team that beat back President Donald Trump’s attempt to pull Acosta’s reporting pass.

The Health Department announced today that it has closed a school in Williamsburg for failing to comply with an Order of the Health Commissioner in response to the current measles outbreak.
Central UTA Boys Division on 762 Wythe Avenue, Williamsburg, NY was closed today for failing to exclude staff and students who did not have documentation of immunity. The school also received violations for not having an adequate staff to student ratio and for not providing Health Department inspectors with vaccination and attendance records in the time allotted.
The school will not be allowed to reopen until the Health Department reviews and approves a submitted corrective action plan that addresses the lapses in complying with the Commissioner’s Order.

Donald Trump Jr. will return to Capitol Hill on Wednesday for a second closed-door interview with members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, according to people familiar with the plans, as part of a deal he struck with leaders last month after the panel issued a subpoena for his testimony.
Under the terms of that deal, the president’s oldest son is expected to spend about four hours with the committee answering a limited number of questions, according to people familiar with the terms – including queries about a June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer promising incriminating information about Hillary Clinton.

President Trump said Tuesday he received a “beautiful” letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un amid their apparent impasse on nuclear talks.
Trump called the letter “very warm” and “very nice” and expressed confidence the two sides could eventually reach an agreement.
“We have a very good relationship together,” Trump told reporters as he departed the White House for a trip to Iowa.
The president added that another meeting could take place, but that Kim has “kept his word” and “that’s very important to me.”

Moldovan President Igor Dodon on Tuesday scrapped a decree for a snap parliamentary election that was hastily issued by his rivals through a high court maneuver, as two opposing factions tussled for control of the tiny east European country.
The leaders of the pro-EU ACUM bloc and Dodon’s Russian-backed Socialists broke months of post-election deadlock by agreeing to form a government aimed at fighting corruption and keeping a party run by tycoon Vladimir Plahotniuc out of power.
But Plahotniuc’s Democratic Party does not recognize the new government and insists Pavel Filip, the prime minister who led the government until February’s vote, is still in charge.

Terrorist attacks against Israelis more than tripled in May, which was the deadliest month in almost two years.
The increase to 449 incidents in May over April’s 126 incidents owes to the launching of hundreds of rockets last month from Gaza into Israel. The rockets killed four people and wounded eight out of the 10 wounded in terrorist attacks in May.
The remaining two were stabbed in Yerushalayim, the Israel Security Agency (Shabak) said in its monthly report for May published earlier this week.

Egypt, Jordan and Morocco are expected to attend the Bahrain economic summit on June 25-26 as part of the first part of the Trump administration’s long-awaited Mideast peace deal between the Israelis and the Palestinians, the White House confirmed on Tuesday.
“Morocco, Jordan and Egypt have told us that they are attending,” a senior White House official told The Times of Israel.
While Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates said last month that they will attend the summit, the Palestinian Authority, Russia and China said they will boycott it.

Minneapolis - Minnesota campaign finance officials said last week that U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar misused campaign funds in violation of state rules. They also revealed that she had filed joint tax returns with her husband years before they were legally married and at a time when she was married to another man.

Prime Minister Netanyahu on Monday vowed Israel will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons, following reports from the UN nuclear watchdog claiming Tehran has increased the rate of enriched uranium production.
Referencing the claims, Netanyahu said firmly in a video address: “I repeat: We will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons that will endanger us and the entire world.”
