Jerusalem, Israel - Sept. 10, 2024 - Jerusalem's real estate market is known for being competitive, with prices often out of reach for many who dream of living in the city. However, a new opportunity is emerging in Katamonim —one of Jerusalem’s oldest neighborhoods— that promises to offer spacious, high-standard apartments within a warm community, and at significantly lower prices than other American neighborhoods in the city.  The project, spearheaded by the Berger Group and marketed by brothers Meir and Chanan Sand, represents a unique approach to community living in Jerusalem. "We wanted to create a community where people can live near their friends and family, enjoy all the amenities they need, and still pay much less than other areas in the city," says M...
If you're a voter in Baltimore City, one of the questions you'll be asked is whether the City Council should be smaller. Question H asks if voters want the City Council to be reduced from 14 seats to just 8. Current District 1 Councilmember Zeke Cohen, who is running to be City Council President, is opposed to the measure. "Let me be crystal clear," he tells WMAR-2 News, "In no world can we cut the City Council in half and not expect to get half the services. The math isn't matching. If you were to bring it down from 14 to 8, you would have less representation, period." PEACE Baltimore is an organization that "hopes to create a more transparent and accountable government," and got the question of reducing the size of the Baltimore City Council on the ballot. On its webs...
Baltimore, MD - Sept. 16, 2024  -  A judge Monday ruled that Question F wouldn't stand, a decision that would take the Harborplace redevelopment plan out of the hands of the voters. The judge ruled from the bench, a state AG's spokesperson told WMAR, and a full written order is expected late Monday evening. Across Light St., steps from the Inner Harbor, a group staunchly against the ballot measure celebrated, led by attorney and former candidate for mayor Thiru Vignarajah. "It is a legal nullity," Vignarajah told reporters. "It doesn't matter what happens with the vote, it will not become law. That is what the judge ruled today. That's a big deal." A spokesperson for developer David Bramble chose not to comment Monday. The Mayor's office released the...
More People, More Connected Every night, there are more and more people flocking to the Kotel for Selichot. It's not yet the middle of Elul, yet it already looks like the eve of Yom Kippur, the highlight of the year. And it's the same at Selichot all over the world — "Sold out," if you can say that about a prayer service! I've heard so many people asking, dejectedly, how we will celebrate the holidays this year, but in my opinion, we should focus on something else. True, we've never been so sad or perplexed, but we've also never wanted so much to connect, to pray, to gather together to gain strength from one another! For many coming to the Kotel this year, it's their first time. Their hearts have been awakened to the healing and holiness of the month o...

Ryan Wesley Routh, the suspect who pointed a rifle with a scope into former US President Donald Trump’s golf club on Sunday, did not have a line of sight of the former President when he was caught by agents, Secret Service acting Director Ronald Rowe Jr. said in a news conference on Monday. Routh was on the public side of the golf course fence, Rowe said, as quoted by CNN. “As former President Trump was moving through the fifth fairway, across the course and out of sight of the sixth green, the agent, who was visually sweeping the area of the sixth green, saw the subject armed with what he perceived to be a rifle and immediately discharged his firearm,” he said. Rowe continued, “The subject who did not have line of sight to the former President fled the scen...
Baltimore, MD - Sept. 16, 2024 - Baltimore Shomrim members have been thoroughly reviewing camera footage from this morning's incidents and are actively working with City Wide Detectives. During the review, Shomrim uncovered a previously unreported third attempted robbery in the Greenspring area. In this case, two suspects exited the same vehicle involved in the earlier incidents and approached an elderly individual, demanding valuables. Upon realizing the person had nothing to give, they quickly returned to the car and fled the scene. Fortunately, no one was harmed in any of the incidents. This is a strong reminder to avoid resisting or fighting back in such situations.
