Arab terrorists from the village of Umm Safa on Wednesday afternoon buried a powerful explosive device on the rocky hill near the town of Ateret, where extensive development work is ongoing.
The device was discovered by an excavator driver returning home after a day of work. At the last moment, the driver noticed a large device in the middle of the road, with a cable extending out from it into the bushes located a distance away. The driver reported the device to security forces, and a sapper called to the scene neutralized the explosive device.

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday enacted its first interest rate cut since the early days of the Covid pandemic, slicing half a percentage point off benchmark rates in an effort to head off a slowdown in the labor market.
With both the jobs picture and inflation softening, the central bank’s Federal Open Market Committee chose to lower its key overnight borrowing rate by a half percentage point, or 50 basis points, affirming market expectations that had recently shifted from an outlook for a cut half that size.
Outside of the emergency rate cuts during Covid, the last time the FOMC cut by half a point was in 2008 during the global financial crisis.

We all remember when Ilan Ramon the first Israeli astronaut flew up to space and unfortunately his spaceship exploded. Ilan had asked a couple of questions before he boarded the Shuttle.
The first question he asked what is he supposed to do regarding keeping Shabbos? When does he mekabel Shabbos? He was told based on a Shaarei Teshuva in Orach Chaim 344:2 in the name of Reb Yonasan Eibshitz in his sefer Mor UKtziah, Just like those that live in Countries where the sun is up for six months one needs to count twenty four hours six times and then keep Shabbos for Twenty four hours.

Baltimore, MD - Sept. 18, 2024 - STAR-K Certification has been bringing the beauty of a monthly communal Shabbos to India for over a decade, but last Shabbos was a first for the kashrus organization. It held a special Shabbos dinner at the Magen Abraham Synagogue, the only shul in the state of Gujarat, located in Ahmedabad (pronounced Amdavad), one of the largest cities of India and former state capital. Situated on the banks of Sabarmati River, it is known among other things for its world-famous cotton textiles and diamond cutting.

Jeruslaem, Israel - Sept. 18, 2024 - Lebanese media reported another round of explosions throughout the country midday on Wednesday.
Initial vague reports of networked devices exploding came in from Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and Southern Lebanon.
If true, this would be the second consecutive day of potential sabotage and explosions in Lebanon after around 3,000 mostly members of Hezbollah were wounded by exploding beepers on Tuesday.

Baltimore, MD - Sept. 18, 2024 - A proposed ban on gas-powered leaf blowers is one step closer to becoming a law in Baltimore.As the debate in the city council continues, some argue the legislation is long overdue - while others say the city doesn't have its priorities right.
If approved, the measure would ban gas-powered leaf blowers and other gas-powered debris removers like them.
Opponents, including some business owners, say that would be the wrong move.

It has been released for publication that the target of Hezbollah's attempted assassination, which it intended to carry out by placing a bomb in Yarkon Park last Rosh Hashanah, was Defense Minister and former Chief of Staff Moshe (Bogie) Ya'alon.
A year ago a bomb exploded in Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv, with no casualties.
