Akiva Schwartz, 17, was injured Thursday morning by shrapnel during a shooting attack in Jerusalem.
The attack left three people dead and several others injured.
Schwartz lives in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem, and studies at the Netiv Hatorah yeshiva.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Schwartz said, "I missed the bus and waited at the bus stop. I heard gunshots, I turned around and saw a man holding a pistol. I started to run and suddenly I felt a pain in my leg. I started to limp."
"I saw many ambulances arriving and I banged on the window of one of them. I told them that I was injured in my foot, and they treated me and took me to the hospital."
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at a press conference in Tel Aviv this evening: "We share the elation, the relief of the families from more than a dozen countries, including the United States, who have been united with their loved ones. And yet, there are scores of families here in Israel, the United States, and around the world, whose loved ones continue to be held captive and who are desperate to get them home safely. We will not stop working until we get every hostage back home with their families and loved ones."
Baltimore, MD - Nov. 30, 2023 - For over a century, the state of Maryland has held control over the Baltimore Police Department, but efforts are underway to change this long-standing arrangement, according to WMAR2News. Baltimore City Council President Nick Mosby emphasized the importance of regaining local control of the police department. While voters supported this change last November, it still requires further steps at both the state and city levels. The proposed measures involve amending the city charter and passing a separate bill to define the department's structure. Ultimately, the state needs to adjust its language in this regard. Mosby explained, 'It's more of a technical thing to clean up, the section of the code that embedded the control to the state - so we...
