Baltimore, MD - Mar. 29, 2023 - Tashbar began its service to the Baltimore community in 2018. The school is located at the corner of Park Heights and Slade avenue. The enthusiastic children can be seen during the day playing on the school campus when they are not engaged in Torah study. The school has a current enrollment of over 50 boys from K - 8th grade.

What to eat
As for the kinds of food we eat, everyone can make some subtle, but significant, adjustments. Load up on vegetables and fruits and try to use whole grain matzah. Even though meat and chicken dishes are more popular at this time of year, it is still important to keep the portion size small. Be sure to trim the fat from your meat.

The FDA on Wednesday approved Narcan, an opioid overdose reversal drug, to be sold without a prescription.
The approval marks the first time any form of naloxone will be available without a prescription. The drug, which first received FDA approval in 1971, was originally an injection. The FDA approved the inhaled nasal spray version, more commonly known as Narcan, in 2015. It contains 4 mg of naloxone that can be sprayed into the nose like a common allergy medication.
“Today’s approval of OTC naloxone nasal spray will help improve access to naloxone, increase the number of locations where it’s available and help reduce opioid overdose deaths throughout the country,” FDA Commissioner Robert Califf said in a statement.

Bnei Brak, Israel - Mar. 29, 2023 - In a unique and moving event arranged by Eretz Hakodesh, gedolei Yisroel, shlit”a, recited Birkas Illanos on trees from the fields of Keren Kayemet L’Yisrael/the Jewish National Fund for Israel (KKL) that had been maintained according to the laws of Shmittah.
For the first time in history, this past year, KKL observed the laws of Shmittah on all the lands under its jurisdiction. In practical terms, this meant that, thanks to the orchestration of Eretz HaKodesh, KKL did not rely on a heter mechirah (selling the land), but allowed all its land to remain fallow for the recent Shmittah year. US President Joe Biden on Tuesday commented on the recent goings on in Israel.
“Like many strong supporters of Israel, I'm very concerned. I'm concerned that they get this straight. They cannot continue down this road. I've sort of made that clear,” said Biden, according to a CNN report.
Biden also added he will not be inviting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House in the near term.
Earlier on Tuesday, a spokesperson for the US National Security Council commented on US Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides' statement that Netanyahu would soon be invited to the White House to meet Biden.

Adnan Syed's original murder conviction and sentence have been reinstated on the basis that the state violated the victim's family's right to attend the hearing on the motion to vacate, according to a Maryland court opinion posted Tuesday.
The Appellate Court of Maryland's opinion states the Baltimore court did not provide the victim's family with the rights to be afforded a victim or victim's representative under constitutional provisions and Maryland laws.

Baltimore, MD - Mar. 28, 2023 - Rabbi Emanuel Goldfiez, Rav of Baltimore Sephardic Center, gave a brief history of the origins of Ashkenazi and Sefardi Jews. Rabbi Goldfeiz then went on to explain the issur in the Torah to eat from the five grains if they became chometz. The rav told the story of how Rav Huna's wife served rice on Yom Tov to fulfill the requirement to have two cooked foods. The rav also explained some of the variations among Morrocon Sefardim who eat beans but not rice and Syrian sefardim who don't eat chickpeas or chumas.
Finally, the rav explained how even Ashkenazim are allowed to have benefit from kitniyos such as feeding one's pets kitniyos.

Israeli driving licenses are now being officially recognized by the United Arab Emirates, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday ahead of Passover, when many visitors are expected for the holiday period.

Greek media reported Tuesday that a terrorist plot targeting a Jewish restaurant in downtown Athens was foiled.
According to the reports, the police in Athens arrested two Iranian terrorists of Pakistani origin on suspicion of planning to attack a number of targets related to Israel and the Jewish community in the Greek capital.

The FBI needs the public’s help locating Roy C. McGrath and is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Officials say an arrest warrant has been issued for Governor Larry Hogan's former chief of staff after he failed to appear in Baltimore for trial on March 13, 2023.
McGrath is now a fugitive and considered an international flight risk, according to the FBI.
On October 5, 2021, McGrath was indicted in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland for violations of wire fraud and theft or bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds.
