Israel is worried about possible interference by Russia in the upcoming national elections.
According to a report by Ben Caspit in Maariv, Israel has asked Russia to refrain from any form of interference in the election cycle.
The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), by order of Prime Minister Yair Lapid, contacted its Russian counterpart with the appeal.
Three years ago the former chief of the Shin Bet, Nadav Argaman, warned of potential foreign interference in elections, mainly through cyberspace.

Israeli students have sent a letter to Ben & Jerry’s, accusing the ice cream maker of “illegally” occupying tribal land in Vermont that belonged to an Abenaki Native American tribe.
The letter, addressed to Ben & Jerry’s board chair Anuradha Mittal, which was signed by over 1,000 Israeli students and academics associated with Students for Justice in America, slammed Ben & Jerry’s for hypocritically boycotting Judea and Samaria.

Garland blasts 'attacks on the professionalism of the FBI and Justice Department agents and prosecutors'
US Attorney General Merrick Garland told reporters on Thursday that he “personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant” on former US president Donald Trump's Florida estate on Monday.
According to The Washington Post, the FBI agents who raided the house sought documents on nuclear weapons.
In a public statement, Garland refused to divulge any more information on the investigation or the raid on Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago due to “ethical obligations,” but noted that he submitted a notion to the Justice Department to release the warrant to the public.

Johnson & Johnson is pulling baby powder containing talc worldwide next year after it did the same in the U.S. and Canada amid thousands of lawsuits claiming it had caused cancer.
Talc will be replaced by cornstarch, the company said.
The company has faced thousands of lawsuits alleging its talcum powder caused users to develop ovarian cancer, through use for feminine hygiene, or mesothelioma, a cancer that strikes the lungs and other organs.
J&J insists, and the overwhelming majority of medical research on talc indicates, that the talc baby powder is safe and doesn't cause cancer.
However, demand for the company's baby powder fell off due to the controversy and it removed talc from the products in most of North America.

Baltimore police are sending out a warning about the Orbeez challenge going around social media.
It encourages young people to shoot others with water beads from a gel blaster. They're also using gel airsoft or BB guns.
Police say that people can be seriously injured if the shot is misplaced.
Depending on the gun used and the extent of the injuries, anyone caught doing the challenge can be charged with a felony.

Moshe Rabbeinu did not have the “fairy-tale” ending that we would have all imagined,
of marching into Eretz Yisroel as the sun set. Instead, after Moshe davened 515 unique teffilos begging Hashem for the opportunity to enter Eretz Yisroel (as per the Midrash; hinted by the fact that Va’eschanan’s numerical value is 515), in our Parshah, Hashem declines his request.
How could it be that Moshe Rabbeinu, the one who went up for 40 days and 40 nights to shamayim, who personally learnt Torah with Hashem, the greatest Navi in history, the one who Hashem regularly answered even when it came to forgiving the most iniquitous of sins, etc. – did not have his teffilos answered, despite asking for such a virtuous request, and even after davening over 500 times???

We read these beautiful words of the prophet Yeshayahu (Isaiah) on the Shabbos immediately following Tisha B’Av. When the fast ends, we feel euphoric, excited, and optimistic. But why? What is different? The Temple has not yet been rebuilt, anti-Semitism still exists, and there is still in-fighting within our people. Why is this Shabbos a Shabbos of Consolation when nothing has seemingly changed?

Mick Mulvaney, the former Trump administration acting chief of staff, said on Thursday that the reported informant who tipped off authorities about where Donald Trump was storing classified documents at Mar-a-Lago would have to be “very close” to the former president.
“This would be someone who was handling things on day to day, who knew where documents were, so it would be somebody very close inside the president, my guess is there’s probably six or eight people who had that kind of information,” Mulvaney said on CNN.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Thursday condemned Israel over the recent Operation “Breaking Dawn,” accusing it of using "disproportionate force" in the Gaza Strip.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention eased its Covid-19 guidance on Thursday, saying the virus now poses a much lower risk of severe illness, hospitalization and death compared to earlier in the pandemic.
The CDC no longer recommends testing people in schools who don’t have Covid symptoms, its previous strategy to catch possible infections and head off outbreaks. But such screening is still recommended in certain high risk settings such as nursing homes, prisons and homeless shelters.
And people who aren’t vaccinated no longer need to quarantine if they have been exposed to Covid, according to the new CDC guidance. Instead, public health officials now recommend that these individuals wear a mask for 10 days and get tested on day five.

Nearly 10% of Jewish Americans who immigrated to Israel in 2021 moved to a West Bank settlement
More Jews moved from the United States to West Bank settlements in 2021 than in any other year in the past decade, according to data compiled by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).
The figures showed that 333 US Jews who made aliyah — Jewish immigration to Israel – last year found new homes in the Palestinian territory, a 73 percent increase from the year prior.

A rapid breath test using "electronic nose" (eNose) technology developed at the Technion University in Haifa, northern Israel, was shown to be effective in verifying the diagnosis of atherosclerosis - a disease affecting the arteries - in patients.
The artificial nose uses sensitive, submicroscopic sensors, called nanoparticles, capable of detecting tiny molecular changes in the patient's blood.
The test can identify disease biomarkers and screen high-risk groups for specific diseases, as well as monitor treatments in people with that disease. The technology has already detected a variety of diseases, including certain types of cancer.
