Islamic Jihad confirmed early Sunday morning that Khaled Mansour, the leader of the organization's southern division, was eliminated in an IDF attack in the Gaza Strip. Also eliminated in the attack was Ziad Al-Mudallal, the son of the senior Islamic Jihad leader Ahmad al-Mudallal. Meanwhile, the IDF continued to strike terrorist targets in Gaza early Sunday morning. This came following a barrage of rockets that was fired at southern Israel overnight. Over the years, Mansour was involved in dozens of incidents of rocket fire, mortar bombs and anti-tank missiles. During Operation Guardian of the Walls, he was responsible for hundreds of rocket launches towards Israel.

BALTIMORE, MD (August 5th, 2022)  - With temperatures expected to rise in the Baltimore region and the heat index forecasted to reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit multiple days in a row, Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Letitia Dzirasa has issued a Code Red Extreme Heat Alert for Sunday, August 7th and Monday, August 8th. The heat index is a measure of air temperature and relative humidity and indicates how hot it feels to the human body.  Excessive heat is the leading weather-related killer in the United States. The effects of extreme heat are exacerbated in urban areas, especially when combined with high humidity and poor air quality. Extreme heat is particularly dangerous for young children, older adults, and those with chronic medical conditions. All residents are encou...

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Yaakov Rajchenbach zt”l following an illness. Reb Yaakov, who resided in Chicago, Illinois, was one of the noted machzikei Torah of the Olam HaTorah, a noted baal chesed who was involved in torchei tzibbur for decades. Humble, self-effacing, with a heart the encompassed all of Klal Yisroel, Reb Yaakov was a one-of-a-kind mokir rabbonon, machzik Torah, and baal chesed. His petirah is a tremendous loss for the greater Torah world and leaves a gaping void in the hearts of all who knew him. Reb Yaakov humbly agreed to serve on various boards of mosdos haTorah v’hachesed in order to help in any way he could....
אלה הדברים — These are the words... So begins Moshe’s last powerful and heartfelt message to his beloved people prior to his final departure. An enigmatic Midrash states the following: If one wants to fathom [the concept of the notion that] Pinchos is Eliyahu, one should see [these words] אלה הדברים — These are the words. The Second Rebbe of Modzitz, Rav Shaul Yedidya Elazar Taub, offers a fascinating interpretation of this cryptic statement. (ישא ברכה) The Holy Arizal taught that each of the Jewish months correspond to specific limbs of our body. The months of Tamuz and Av match with the right and left eye respectively. In Eichah we recite how, על אלה — Over these things I weep; עיני עיני — my eyes run with water.....
Baltimore, MD – Aug. 5, 2022 – 12:25PM – With the traffic lights still not working, an accident has just occurred at the intersection of Slade & Reisterstown Road. Be cautious when traveling through the area. IMPORTANT REMINDER: It is extremely important to note that the rule for when traffic lights are out is that one must come to a *complete stop at intersections or roadways where the traffic lights are not on.* *You must treat the light as a stop sign.*  If it is a four-way intersection, you must treat it as a four-way stop. The same rule applies to other roadways that have a light that is out.
Imagine for a moment living in a world that has no words. It’s kind of hard to imagine, I know. But think about it. In a world with no words, you wouldn’t be able to talk or read. Words help us communicate, explain things, and relate to each other. In a world with no words, all of these important things would be severely reduced. Communication with other humans would be limited to body language and possibly sonar. Huh? I’m kidding, sonar would still be reserved for dolphins.   On the flip side, in a world with no words, we wouldn’t talk negatively or speak badly about others. In a world with no words, Lashon Harah wouldn’t exist. And if Lashon Harah didn’t exist, we would likely not have gone into galus, exile.   You see, Tisha Be’av wa...
