A military cargo plane carrying the first shipment of infant formula from Europe to address a critical shortage in the United States landed in Indianapolis on Sunday.
A Feb. 17 recall by top baby formula maker Abbott Laboratories and the closing of its manufacturing plant in Sturgis, Michigan have created one of the biggest infant formula shortages in recent history for U.S. families.
President Joe Biden’s administration is seeking to stock empty shelves with 1.5 million containers of Nestle specialty infant formulas. Biden last week invoked the Cold War-era Defense Production Act to help increase supplies.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for multiple jurisdictions Sunday night, including Baltimore County.
The National Weather Service issued the warning after 5:30 p.m. when radar detected severe thunderstorms on a line from Richardsmere to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Officials said the storms were moving east at 25 mph and had 60 mph wind gusts.
Before 6 p.m., forecasters said severe thunderstorms with 60 mph wind gusts were on a line from Farmington to Pasadene and were moving east at 25 mph.
Wind may cause trees and large branches to fall, injuring people outside and damaging homes and vehicles. Roads could become blocked by fallen trees, and power outages are possible.

'Sadly, in this country, incidents of antisemitism are up 34 percent'
In a response to increasing violence and harassment targeting Jews in the United States, the House of Representatives last week passed a resolution to denounce antisemitism.
Out of 421 votes, only one member voted against the resolution urging to combat antisemitism by refuting Holocaust denial, addressing online antisemitism on various social media platforms, and improving the security of Jewish communities, including institutions and organizations.

The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on Sunday ruled that Jews are now allowed to recite the "Shema" prayer and bow down on the Temple Mount.
The decision was taken following an appeal by the legal defense group Honenu against the arrest of three young Jews, detained after praying at the site. They received a 15-day restraining order.

Mayor Eric Adams waves Israeli flag, proclaims that 'our city is coming back strong'
The streets of New York City turned into a sea of blue and white on Sunday as tens of thousands turned out for the first Celebrate Israel Parade in two years.
The annual event was held virtually during the Covid-19 pandemic, with organizers saying that an estimated 40,000 marchers were expected at the largest pro-Israel gathering outside of the Jewish state.

A second suspected case of monkeypox has been detected in Israel, the Israeli Health Ministry announced on Sunday.
The second patient, a 27-year-old sailor, arrived in Israel following a trip in Western Europe and has been hospitalized in isolation at the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon, according to Mako. He is reportedly in good condition, according to the report.

President Joe Biden said Sunday that the United States is looking into what vaccines might be available to protect people against monkeypox, saying that “everybody” should be concerned as cases continue to spread around the world and some countries beef up their treatment stockpiles.

The state’s witness in the trial, former Communications Ministry Director-General Shlomo Filber, was cross-examined by Netanyahu’s attorneys throughout the past week.

Iranian officer gunned down identified as Sayyad Khodaei
A member of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force was assassinated on the streets of Tehran on Sunday, according to official state media outlets.
He was identified as Col. Sayyad Khodaei.
"At around 4 pm today, near Mojahedin-e-Islam Street in Tehran, two motorcyclists shot and killed one of the defenders of the shrine by firing five bullets while he was about to enter," the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) article stated.
The two assailants were still at large, the Mehr News Agency reported.
The IRGC in a statement confirmed the death of the colonel, who was active in Syria.
