Donald Trump’s new social media company and its special purpose acquisition company partner say the partner has agreements for $1 billion in capital from institutional investors.
The former president launched his new company, Trump Media & Technology Group, in October. He unveiled plans for a new messaging app called “Truth Social” to rival Twitter and the other social media platforms that banned him following the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
TMTG’s plan is to become a publicly listed company through a merger with the publicly traded Digital World Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company whose sole purpose is to acquire a private company and take it public.

A rush of vaccine-seeking customers and staff shortages are squeezing drugstores around the U.S., leading to frazzled workers and temporary pharmacy closures.
Drugstores are normally busy this time of year with flu shots and other vaccines, but now pharmacists are doling out a growing number of COVID-19 shots and giving coronavirus tests.

President Joe Biden is a "one-trick pony" whose administration just wants to push COVID-19 vaccines on Americans, a major reason the U.S. didn't meet "moderate" jobs expectations set by economists, says former President Donald Trump.
"America fell 340,000 jobs short of the very modest expectations set by economists. That's because Joe Biden is a one-trick pony, 'Get the vaccine,'" Trump said in a statement released by his Save America PAC.

President Joe Biden, who is notorious for stretching the truth, claimed that he was involved in negotiations between Israel and Egypt during the Six Day War.
The problem is, Biden was still attending law school at the time. True, Biden has been in Washington for a really long time. But not that long.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday criticized Iran and said it is not serious about reviving the 2015 nuclear deal.
“What we’ve seen in the last couple of days is that Iran, right now, does not seem to be serious about doing what’s necessary to return to compliance, which is why we ended this round of talks in Vienna,” Blinken said during the Reuters Next conference, after the latest round of indirect talks adjourned.
He warned that the United States would not let Iran drag out the process while continuing to advance its nuclear program and stressed that Washington will pursue other options if diplomacy fails.
A State Department spokesperson said that Iran did not come to Vienna with constructive proposals.

An assassination attempt on the life of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was foiled by Turkish intelligence on Saturday evening, Turkish media reported.
An explosive device was found under a police car securing a rally held for Erdoğan in the southeastern city of Siirt.
The device was found only moments prior to the start of the rally, Turkish media reported.
After the device was found, it was dismantled and defused by a Turkish police bomb disposal team, according to Turkish news outlet KARAR.
Forensic investigators scanned the explosive device and police vehicle for fingerprints and an investigation to find the perpetrator has reportedly begun.

A passenger plane flying from Tel Aviv to Moscow was forced to change altitude over the Black Sea because a reconnaissance plane was in the area, Russia's Interfax news agency cited an unnamed air traffic control source as saying on Saturday.
Russia's state aviation authority declined to comment on the report, which said the incident happened on Friday when a spy plane crossed a civilian flight path. Moskovsky Komsomolets, a Russian tabloid, cited a source as saying the same thing.
The Interfax source said air traffic control told the passenger plane to lower its course by 500 meters (1,640 feet).

Bitcoin plunged along with other cryptocurrencies on Saturday, in another indication of the risk aversion sweeping across financial markets.
The largest digital token fell as low as $42,296 before paring some of the tumble. It was trading at about $48,300 as of 10:31 a.m. in New York on Saturday, a drop of about 10%. The token has now declined more than 20% from the all-time high of more than $69,000 seen on November 10.
Ether, the second-largest token, fell as much as 17.4% before trimming the retreat to about 4%. The overall crypto sector has shed around a fifth of its value, sliding to $2.2 trillion, according to tracker CoinGecko.

Roberto and Elana Birman were heading home from Miami on Flight 322 in August when the “humiliating” incident unfolded, they told The Post.

A judge imposed a combined $1 million bond Saturday for the parents of the Michigan teen charged with killing four students at Oxford High School, hours after police said they were caught hiding in a Detroit commercial building.
James and Jennifer Crumbley entered not guilty pleas to each of the four involuntary manslaughter counts against them during a hearing held on Zoom. Jennifer Crumbley sobbed and struggled to respond to the judge’s questions at times and James Crumbley shook his head when a prosecutor said their son had full access to the gun used in the killings.
Judge Julie Nicholson assigned bond of $500,000 apiece to each of the parents and required GPS monitoring if they pay to be released, agreeing with prosecutors that they posed a flight risk.

A Palestinian terrorist stabbed an Israeli man near Jerusalem's Old City on Saturday, Israeli media reported.

CNN said Saturday that anchor Chris Cuomo has been "terminated" by the network, "effective immediately."
The announcement came after an outside law firm was retained to review information about exactly how Cuomo aided his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, when the then-governor was accused of [...] harassment.

Michigan authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for the parents of Oakland High School shooting suspect Ethan Crumbley.
A statewide "Be on the Lookout" (BOLO) alert was issued for James and Jennifer Crumbley Friday, two police departments confirmed to FOX 2 Detroit.

Goli Balakhani is a single, quadriplegic woman in our community, who has not been able to move for over 30 years.

State health officials confirmed three cases of the COVID-19 omicron variant in Maryland.
The omicron variant was confirmed in the United States with the first case in California. It quickly spread to Minnesota, then several more cases were confirmed in New York, and even more in Colorado, Hawaii and Nebraska.
The omicron variant is a new and potentially more contagious variant of COVID-19 that was discovered in southern Africa. There's still a lot unknown about omicron. Researchers are working as quickly as they can to learn more, but they said what they see so far is concerning.
