A family of four flying from Orlando to Atlantic City today was asked to exit the plane after their 2-year-old refused to put on a face mask, as Matzav.com first reported earlier today, but Spirit Airlines has now disputed those claims, despite video showing that Spirit’s staff was clearly in the wrong in this outrageous incident, another failure of the constantly-under-attack airlines.
A spokesperson for the airline claimed to Newsweek that on two separate occasions prior to departure, the parents were not wearing their masks correctly, which was why they were asked by cabin crew to disembark. Passengers on the flight tell Matzav.com that this is an outright lie.

The Senate parliamentarian ruled on Monday that Democrats can use special budgetary rules to avoid Republican filibusters on two more pieces of legislation this year, potentially clearing the way for President Biden’s mutli-trillion-dollar infrastructure proposal to pass in two packages with simple-majority votes.
Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough ruled that Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer of New York and his Democratic troops can pass Mr. Biden’s $2.25 trillion package using the fiscal 2021 budget resolution. That means Democrats could push through the package if they don’t lose any of their 50 senators.

U.S. equity markets raced to all-time highs Monday as traders celebrated the stronger-than-expected March jobs report.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 372 points, or 1.12%, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.44% and 1.67%, respectively. The gains ran both the Dow and the S&P 500 to fresh record highs.

Beginning an intensive day of meetings with political parties for consultations on each one’s preferred candidate for forming the next government, President Reuven Rivlin lamented Monday that “at the moment, I can’t see a way to form a coalition.”
He also said if his first choice to form a government fails, he may send the mandate back to the Knesset to make a choice, rather than giving a second person a chance to do so first.
And in stark comments, the president added that “after four election campaigns, democracy has exhausted itself.”

All Marylanders aged 16 and above will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at any mass vaccination site beginning Tuesday, according to Gov. Larry Hogan.
By Monday, April 12, all providers in the state — such as pharmacies and local health departments — will be required to offer shots to people 16 and up.

Gov. Larry Hogan will provide an update on Maryland's COVID-19 vaccination plan on Monday at 4 p.m.
The state is currently in Phase 2B of its inoculation plan — which includes residents age 16 and up with disabilities and underlying medical conditions that increase the risk for severe COVID-19 illness.

A flight heading from Orlando to the tri-state was forced to deplane today after a two-year-old Jewish child who was eating a yogurt wasn’t wearing a mask.
This incident is the latest debacle on a Spirit Airlines flight.
The flight was full of frum people returning from Orlando after having spent the Yom Tov of Pesach there.
The child’s mother, seated on the left side of the plane next to her husband and child, explained to the flight staff that her child is only two years old and would not wear a mask.
The staff member who confronted the couple was obnoxious and would not relent, forcing everyone on the flight off the plane,
The staff ignored the fact that the mother is expecting and that the couple has a special needs child.

The United States has put Johnson and Johnson in charge of a plant that ruined 15 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine and has stopped British drugmaker AstraZeneca Plc from using the facility, a senior health official said on Saturday.
J&J said it was “assuming full responsibility” of the Emergent BioSolutions facility in Baltimore, reiterating that it will deliver 100 million doses to the government by the end of May.

The man who rammed a car into two officers at a barricade outside the U.S. Capitol, killing one of them before he was shot to death by police, had been suffering from delusions, paranoia and suicidal thoughts, a U.S. official told The Associated Press on Saturday. Investigators believe it was an isolated incident from a disturbed young man.
Video of the Friday afternoon attack shows the driver emerging from the crashed car with a knife in his hand and starting to run at the pair of officers, Capitol Police acting Chief Yogananda Pittman told reporters. Police shot the suspect, 25-year-old Noah Green, who died at a hospital.

The Supreme Court on Monday deemed former President Donald Trump's appeal of a ruling that said it was unconstitutional for him to block critics, deeming his page to be a protected public forum.
The court called for the case to be dismissed, as Trump is no longer in office and Twitter has blocked him from the platform. Justice Clarence Thomas agreed with the decision in light of Trump no longer being president, but the conservative jurist illustrated the complexity of the matter given that Trump ultimately did not have full control over his own account.

The last known Jew living in Afghanistan is reported to be leaving for Israel, according to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
"I'm going to watch TV in Israel to find out what's going to happen in Afghanistan," Zabulon Simantov told Arab News on Sunday .
Zabulon Simantov, 61, has announced that he will be immigrating in the fall, to join his wife and their two daughters who have lived in Israel since 1998.
Zabulon Simantov had chosen to stay in Afghanistan to take care of the only synagogue, located in Kabul.
