After viewers noted that the stage at the CPAC conference was shaped like a Nazi symbol, the organizer of the conservative political conference said any resemblance was unintentional.
But Hyatt, which operates the hotel that hosted the conference, called the prospect of the symbol being included in CPAC “abhorrent.”
CPAC is perhaps the leading annual conservative conference, drawing a who’s-who of prominent Republicans, as well as lower-profile activists. This year, former president Donald Trump was the top-billed speaker.

The Health Ministry on Monday informed healthcare providers that they can begin to vaccinate Israelis who have recovered from COVID-19.
The ministry’s recommendation calls for vaccinating patients with a single dose three months after recovery. Only recovered patients over 16 can receive a shot, in keeping with the ministry’s guidelines not to vaccinate anyone younger than that.

Fox News said Tuesday that it had signed former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany as a contributor to offer commentary on various network programs.
McEnany, former President Donald Trump’s final press secretary, didn’t speak about her new role during an interview with Fox’s Harris Faulkner that aired Tuesday.
It was reported in January that McEnany had disclosed to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics while still in office that she would work for Fox after leaving the White House. Fox said at the time that it had been in discussions with McEnany but had paused them.
Before working for Trump, McEnany was a commentator at CNN.

The number of seriously ill COVID-19 patients in Israel dropped to its lowest point since December 30 on Tuesday, according to Health Ministry figures. New deaths and infections continued to decline since highs in January.
The ministry said there were 704 active serious cases, including 265 classified as critical and 226 patients on ventilators.
Serious cases peaked in mid- to late-January with over 1,900 patients, with the number steadily falling since.

A House of Representatives panel has reissued a subpoena seeking Donald Trump’s tax and financial records, saying in a memo made public on Tuesday it needs the documents to address “conflicts of interest” by future presidents.
In a court filing on Tuesday, House lawyers told a judge that the House Oversight Committee reissued a subpoena to Trump’s accounting firm, Mazars USA LLP, on Feb. 25.
The committee issued a similar subpoena in 2019, but that subpoena expired in January when new U.S. lawmakers took office.

In an interview on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” former President Donald Trump’s eldest son said that “everyone knew what this radical administration would do, but no one would say it.”

Percentage of Charedim diagnosed with coronavirus falls as percentage of Arabs diagnosed begins to rise, Prof. Eran Segal says.
Just 6% of seriously ill coronavirus patients are from the haredi sector, Professor Eran Segal tweeted. At the same time, he added, 50% of those seriously ill with coronavirus are from the Arab sector.
"Over the past week, the number of seriously ill coronavirus patients in the Arab sector rose 24%, and they currently represent 40% of new serious cases," he wrote.

Jerusalem's Hadassah Medical Center announced on Wednesday that unvaccinated staff members will no longer be allowed to treat patients at the facility, according to The Times of Israel.
As of Sunday, doctors, and nurses who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 or who have acquired some level of immunity while recovering from the virus will find themselves tending to administrative duties at the hospital until further notice.

Dr. Robert Redfield, former director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has joined Gov. Larry Hogan's office as a senior adviser for public health, Hogan announced Tuesday.
Redfield "will advise us on a wide range of immediate priorities," Hogan said.
The position is unpaid, the governor's office said.
Former President Donald Trump appointed Redfield to lead the CDC in 2018. Tuesday's news is a bit of a homecoming for Redfield. After years as a U.S. Army physician, Redfield retired from the service in 1996 to co-found the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

U.S. private employers added fewer jobs than expected in February, even as the number of COVID-19 cases nationwide eased and state governments lifted some lockdown measures implemented to curb the spread of the virus, according to the ADP National Employment Report released Wednesday.
The report showed that companies added 117,000 jobs last month, missing the 177,000-job increase that economists surveyed by Refinitiv had predicted.

Following the announcement of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine being approved, Gov. Hogan has announced a ramp-up for vaccine rollouts at mass vaccination sites.
Hogan revealed Maryland will receive 49,600 doses of the J&J COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday, all of which will be deployed within the week. Hogan did say that the next J&J shipment would not arrive until March 18.
