Stocks tumbled on Monday, as traders expressed concerns on whether U.S. lawmakers would pass another fiscal stimulus bill to support the economy and as Europe put additional restrictions in place to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped over 700 points or 2.4%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite sank 1.8% and 1.4%, respectively.
Oil fell below the $40 per barrel level, a 3-week low making energy stocks the worst-performing group in the S&P.

A new survey conducted by the American Jewish Committee on Jewish and non-Jewish Americans revealed a stark level of ignorance when it comes to anti-Semitism awareness among the U.S. general public.
According to the survey, “The State of Antisemitism in American 2020,” which surveyed 1,010 non-Jewish adults between Sept. 15-20, 2020, some 46 percent of Americans are “unsure” or have “never heard of the term” anti-Semitism.

Human trials for Israel's COVID-19 vaccine prototype will commence on November 1, and continue into the spring if the treatment proves successful, Israel's Defense Ministry said Sunday.
Developed by the Israel Institute for Biological Research, the trials will be conducted in multiple phases, beginning with just two patients. The second phase will see the vaccine distributed to 80 volunteers throughout the month of November.
