Israel’s High Court of Justice annulled Monday a directive to demolish the home of a Palestinian terrorist who took part in the murder of 19-year-old First Sgt. Dvir Sorek in August 2019.
In their majority decision, two justices – Judges Uzi Fogelman and Anat Baron – wrote that the terrorist’s family, his wife and three children, did not know of his deeds, therefore, the punishment is not proportional.
Terrorist Mahmoud Attawone is charged with intentionally causing death for his involvement and complicity in the stabbing attack against Sorek — among other offenses, Hebrew-language outlet Walla News reported.

COVID-19 update as we start to leave our cocoons. The purpose of this post is to provide a perspective on the intense but expected anxiety so many people are experiencing as they prepare to leave the shelter of their homes. My opinions are not those of my employers and are not meant to invalidate anyone else’s – they simply are my perspective on managing risk.

Baltimore, MD - May 25, 2020 - For nearly 40 years, I had the honor of serving on the Baltimore City Council. I am appalled by the current state of our City. I’ve never seen our local leadership so out of touch with reality, unable to act and unwilling to lead. Never. The mayor and council president seem numb to the death toll, steadfast in pointing blame and more focused on passing resolutions and pursuing political quarrel than saving lives and actually changing the course of Baltimore’s history.
I join in claiming that the 2020 mayoral election will be the most important in a generation. If that fact has yet to resonate, take it from me - this is my 21st election - and I assure you Baltimore is at a juncture unlike any other.

We are working closely with Captain Brandon Rodgers and his wonderful team from the Baltimore County Police Department, Pikesville Precinct to resolve this matter. This one is special. I had the opportunity to record this song remotely with 3 great friends of mine in different cities across the US.
Originally written for the musical, "Carousel," it has become something of an anthem of support for medical staff and first responders during this COVID-19 pandemic. We salute you- you are our heroes.

Republicans are broadening their investigation into special counsel Robert Mueller as the Obamagate controversy heats up.
Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, said fresh criminal referrals are imminent as more people come forward with information about what Trump allies view to have been a plot to undermine the president.
“We’ve also expanded our investigation into the Mueller team and everything that happened with Mueller and the people at DOJ and FBI that were above Mueller. And so, we will be making criminal referrals in the coming weeks against the Mueller team. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not have to attend the next session of his trial on July 19, the Jerusalem District Court ruled on Sunday.
The ruling was handed down by Jerusalem District Court judge Rivka Friedman-Feldman, the head of the three-judge panel overseeing Netanyahu’s trial, at the conclusion of the 50-minute arraignment hearing, during which Netanyahu pleaded innocent to the charges of fraud, bribery and breach of trust.
Dates for subsequent hearings have yet to be determined, according to media reports.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone on Monday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky — Ukraine’s first Jewish president — highlighted the close ties between his country and Israel.
As they discussed efforts to deal the coronavirus crisis, Zelensky said, “Israel is an example of an effective fight against the pandemic. I would be grateful to your government for providing humanitarian assistance, as well as for sharing best practices in the fight against coronavirus.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom on Monday issued new guidelines for places of worship in the state to begin resuming in-person services amid the coronavirus pandemic, NBC News reports.
Newsom's new guidelines say places of worship could reopen, if local county public health officials approve, but attendance must be limited to 25% of building capacity or a maximum of 100 people, whichever is lower.
The limitations will remain in places for 21 days after approval. After the initial three weeks, the California Department of Public Health will work with county public health officials to review the impact of in-person gatherings at places of worship and provide further direction for future services.

Strategic Affairs Minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen (Blue and White) on Monday sent an official letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in which she demanded that he immediately suspend the account of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The request follows Khamenei’s tweets last week in which he encouraged, among other things, the implementation of a Nazi “Final Solution” against Israel.
"In recent days, hundreds of anti-Semitic tweets have been posted on Khamenei's account, producing de-legitimization and dehumanization of the State of Israel, comparing it to the coronavirus, inciting violence against it and expressing support for declared terrorist organizations," Farkash-Hacohen wrote in her letter.

It’s been a weekend of Biden-bashing from all sides. On Sunday, President Trump jumped into the fray when he said that Biden’s mental incompetence goes beyond the simple “you ain’t black” gaffes and into his own self-awareness.

Many people have been using their extra time during the coronavirus lockdown wisely and have adopted new habits to keep themselves busy. In fact, a recent survey of 2,000 British adults reveals that 43% of people feel they’ve “changed their ways for the better” as a result of all the time inside these past few months.
Researchers sought to learn how habits and daily lives have changed as a result of the lockdown. Nearly half of those surveyed expect to keep up these new hobbies, skills, and daily habits they’ve taken on after the lockdown restrictions are lifted. Learning new computer skills, creating podcasts, participating in online fitness classes and going for long walks are some of the new activities people have turned to as a new means to occupy their time.

Prescriptions for anti-anxiety medications and sleep aids have risen during the pandemic, prompting doctors to warn about the possibility of long-term addiction and abuse of the drugs.
“Many physicians have a low threshold for prescribing them. It’s very problematic,” says Bruce J. Schwartz, deputy chair and professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. “Many people do develop a dependency on these medications.”

The New York Stock Exchange is set to reopen its famed trading floor Tuesday, but it won’t be going back to normal.
Only one-quarter of the NYSE’s usual population of traders will be back when the floor resumes business after a two-month closure prompted by the coronavirus pandemic. Traders who return must wear masks, avoid taking public transportation and follow tough social-distancing rules, with newly erected Plexiglas barriers to help them stay apart.
