When stimulus checks start going out across the country, undocumented immigrants won't be receiving them.
That's not a surprise. They aren't eligible for most federal benefits.
But immigrant rights advocates say leaving this group out of the $2 trillion plan isn't merely a matter of dollars and cents, and it isn't something that only affects undocumented workers and their families. Defense Minister says holding of large seders for Passover would endanger lives of older family members during coronavirus crisis.
Defense Minister and Yamina chairman Naftali Bennett made it clear Monday afternoon that there is now a total ban on holding large Passover seders this year as is customary.
He said such an act endangers human life and could endanger the older family members.
Bennett said at a press conference that Israel is not experiencing an exponential increase in the number of difficult hospitalizations due to compliance with the Health Ministry's instructions.

Israel’s Energy Ministry announced that fuel prices will fall to the lowest price in over a decade, beginning Tuesday at midnight.
According to the Energy Ministry’s updated fuel prices for the month of April, the price per liter of 95 octane gasoline will drop by NIS 1.03 (¢ 0.29), bringing the total cost to NIS 4.89 ($1.37), a 17.4-percent decline since March.
Fuel prices in Eilat will also fall next month to NIS 4.18 ($1.17) per liter.

U.S. equity markets gained Monday morning, continuing the momentum from the Dow’s best week in more than 80 years.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 223 points, or 1 percent, in the opening minutes of trading while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were both higher by 1.4 percent, respectively. Last week, the Dow gained 13 percent, making for its best week since 1938.
Monday’s advance comes after President Trump on Sunday evening announced the extension of social distancing guidelines through at least April 30.
Looking at stocks, airlines slid as they awaited the release tens of billions of dollars of aid from the federal government.

Abbott Laboratories is unveiling a coronavirus test that can tell if someone is infected in as little as five minutes, and is so small and portable it can be used in almost any health-care setting.
The medical-device maker plans to supply 50,000 tests a day starting April 1, said John Frels, vice president of research and development at Abbott Diagnostics. The molecular test looks for fragments of the coronavirus genome, which can quickly be detected when present at high levels. A thorough search to definitively rule out an infection can take up to 13 minutes, he said.
Abbott has received emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration “for use by authorized laboratories and patient care settings,” the company said on Friday.

President Trump said Sunday that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle must pay for their own security if they move to the U.S.
The president tweeted Sunday in response to reports that the prince and his wife had moved to Los Angeles. He started by saying he is a “great friend and admirer” of the queen and the U.K.
“It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada,” he posted. “Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!”

Microsoft’s research and development center in Israel, in collaboration with Israel’s emergency service Magen David Adom (MADA), the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov Hospital), and the Israeli Air Force, is working to develop a low-cost ventilator that can be mass-produced in labs without the need of dedicated factories, Microsoft Israel announced Friday.
Ventilators have been proven to be a bottleneck in treating the more serious symptoms of the coronavirus (Covid-19) in many of the countries currently experiencing an outbreak. Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired a rocket at southern Israel on Friday night, according to the Israeli military. There were no reported injuries or damage.
The rocket fell in the town of Sderot, and in response Israeli tanks and aircraft attacked three Hamas sites, according to the AP. The Israel Defense Forces said the attacks targeted “infrastructure used for underground activity.”
The rocket fire broke a calm on the border that has prevailed since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Separately, the army on Sunday deployed hundreds of soldiers to support police on the country’s streets to enforce the coronavirus lockdown, the IDF announced on Friday.

As many as 10% of recovered coronavirus patients in China tested positive again after being discharged from the hospital, according to a report.
Doctors on the front lines of the outbreak in Wuhan, China — where the virus emerged — reported that between 3 and 10% of cured patients became reinfected with the illness, though it’s unclear whether they were contagious the second time, the South China Morning Post reported.
Tongji Hospital, which identified the first COVID-19 case, confirmed that five of 145 patients — a little over 3% — tested positive again in nucleic acid tests, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
“So far there is no evidence to suggest that they are infectious,” said Wang Wei, the hospital’s president.

WTI futures for May delivery were down as much as 7.3 percent at $19.92 a barrel on Sunday evening and on track for their lowest close since February 2002 before trimming their losses.
The contract, which previously traded below $20 during the current downturn but did not close below the level, was lower by 5.1 percent at $20.42 a barrel on Monday morning.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a Sunday morning interview that qualifying Americans can expect to see their $1,200 checks deposited into their accounts "within three weeks."
Mnuchin, who played a lead role in the $2 trillion bill’s passage, told CBS’ "Face the Nation," that there will be an online system created so Americans who are not signed up, can do so and skip waiting for a physical check.
