East Rutherford, NJ - An armored truck spilled cash Thursday on a New Jersey highway, leading to two crashes as drivers “went a little bit crazy” to grab the swirling money.
The frenzy happened during morning rush hour in East Rutherford, near MetLife Stadium, where the New York Giants and New York Jets play.
In online videos, a man in uniform is seen running through traffic trying to collect money, while others exited their cars to do the same.

Washington - Nancy Pelosi said Democrats will begin to seek President Donald Trump’s tax returns when they take control of the U.S. House of Representatives in January.
The House Ways and Means Committee will “take the first steps,” said Pelosi, who has the backing of her members to become the next speaker of the U.S. House in January.
“There is popular demand for the Congress to request the president’s tax returns,” she said, speaking to reporters. “I’m sure the White House will resist, so the question is where do we go from there.”

Jerusalem - Israel’s prime minister has ordered a number of security measures in the West Bank in response to a Palestinian shooting attack that killed two Israeli soldiers.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s office says he has ordered the expedited demolition of attackers’ homes within 48 hours, increased detentions of Hamas militants in the West Bank and a beefing up of Israeli forces in the region.
He also ordered additional security on roadways and increased checkpoints.
In an announcement Thursday, Netanyahu’s office says he also decided to legalize thousands of existing settlement homes in the West Bank that he says were built in “good faith” but whose status is unclear.

Jerusalem - Israel is to authorize thousands of the settler homes built illegally in the West Bank, some of them decades ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday.
The move is likely to please pro-settler members of Netanyahu’s right-wing coalition while angering Palestinians, who want the West Bank as part of a future state.
“Arranging the rights for the homes allows thousands of residents to be provided with infrastructure of public buildings, educational and religious buildings,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.
It did not give a specific number of homes but Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked tweeted that more than 2,000 homes would be getting permits.

Boston - Save the Children says hackers stole nearly $1 million from the nonprofit through a sophisticated email scam.
The Boston Globe reports that scammers hacked into the email of a worker at the charity’s U.S. offices last year, posed as an employee, and created false invoices and other documents to fool the nonprofit into sending nearly $1 million to a fraudulent entity in Japan.
The scammers claimed the money was needed to purchase solar panels for health centers in Pakistan, a country where Save the Children has worked for decades.
The Save the Children Federation , the Fairfield, Connecticut-based U.S. affiliate of the international organization, said its insurance reimbursed all but $112,000 of the stolen funds.

Assault happened early Thursday at Dunkin'
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - A suspect is in custody after three men wearing yarmulkes were attacked at a Dunkin' early Thursday morning in Miami Beach.
According to police, the attack happened at 341 W. 41st St. after 5:30 a.m.
A witness said a man came in and began attacking the three men with a rock. One of the men tried to restrain the suspect, who then ran off.
Police then set up a perimeter near Royal Palm Avenue and West 41st Street before capturing the suspect, who was then positively identified by one of the victims.
Michael Lefkowitz said the suspect, identified as Leroy Jennings, 32, approached him and asked him if he had heard about a woman who had been raped in another country.

Paris - French security forces were trying to catch the suspected Strasbourg gunman dead or alive, an official said Thursday, two days after an attack near the city’s Christmas market.
Local authorities, meanwhile, increased the death toll to three. The attack wounded 13 others, including five in serious condition, the prefecture of the Strasbourg region said.
More than 700 officers were involved in the manhunt for 29-year-old Cherif Chekatt, who had been flagged for extremism, government spokesman Benjamin Griveaux told CNews television.

Berlin - The trial of a former Nazi concentration camp guard collapsed Thursday due to questions about the 94-year-old defendant’s health.
Johann Rehbogen, a former SS guard at the Stutthof concentration camp, has been hospitalized for heart and kidney issues, causing several recent hearings at the Muenster state court to be canceled.
Due to German legal regulations preventing overly long gaps in trials, the court had no choice but to end the proceedings, said court spokesman Steffen Vahlhaus.
Presiding Judge Rainer Brackhane ruled that a medical expert will re-examine Rehbogen in January to determine whether his condition has improved to the point where the trial can be restarted from the beginning, Vahlhaus said.

New York - A fire raged through a row of businesses in New York City early Thursday, collapsing part of a roof and injuring 12 people including seven firefighters.
None of the injuries was considered life-threatening, Emergency Medical Services Chief James Booth said at the scene.
The fire was reported in a restaurant around 2:15 a.m. Thursday on Queens Boulevard, and the flames spread between the roof and ceilings to neighboring businesses. About six businesses were affected, according to Assistant Fire Chief Anthony DeVita Jr.
Orange flames shot into the air and smoke engulfed the neighborhood of Sunnyside.
At least a dozen firefighters were in the immediate area when an apparent “smoke explosion” erupted and the roof collapsed, DeVita said.

Ankara - A high-speed train hit a railway engine and crashed into a pedestrian overpass Thursday at a station in the Turkish capital of Ankara, killing nine people and injuring dozens, officials said.
The 6:30 a.m. train from Ankara to the central Turkish city of Konya collided head-on with the engine, which was checking the tracks at the capital’s small Marsandiz station, Transport Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan told reporters after inspecting the site. The high-speed train, which the Anadolu Agency said was carrying 206 passengers, usually passes through that station without stopping.

Ramallah - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has condemned the latest round of violence in the West Bank, criticizing both militant attacks and the tough Israeli response.
Abbas’ office issued a statement on Thursday, shortly after a Palestinian gunman killed two Israelis near a West Bank settlement, accusing Israel of creating a “climate” conducive to violence through its frequent military operations in Palestinian cities.

A man attacked three Jewish men Thursday morning in Miami Beach in what appears to be an anti Semitic attack. The attack ocurred at approximately 7:00 am at the Kosher Dunkin Donuts shop on 41st Street in Miami Beach.The man violently beat the three men, who were wearing Yarmulkas and were visibly Jewish, with rocks, sources told COLlive.One of the men was transported to the hospital due to his injuries. West Bank - “He almost never made mistakes.” That was how a senior IDF officer described Ashraf Suleiman Na’alwa, the terrorist behind the attack on the Barkan Industrial Park two months ago, just hours after he was found and killed by Israeli security forces.
According to the Shin Bet, Na’alwa had been armed when forces arrived at the scene and was planning to carry a second terror attack, “which was prevented with the thwarting of the assailant.”
A senior IDF officer told reporters Thursday morning that “there is no doubt that he didn’t relax during the past two months. He was planning on fighting, or carrying out another attack and we knew that we needed to get to him before that could happen.”

The Knesset recently rejected two attempts to take advantage of Israel’s fragile coalition to push through anti-Torah legislation.
One was a bill proposed by MK Merav Michaeli of Zionist Union to allow family court divorces for people of the same religion who had civil marriages overseas. She argued that it was absurd to recognize overseas civil marriages, yet insist on their dissolvement by religious courts.
By a narrow two-vote margin, the Knesset rejected a proposal of Yesh Atid, Meretz and the Zionist Union to annul the Supermarket Law, in which cities cannot pass municipal bylaws permitting stores to open on Shabbos without the Interior Minister’s agreement.

After a two-month manhunt, Israeli forces found and killed Ashraf Na’alowa, the perpetrator of a brutal terror attack in which he shot dead Kim Levengrond Yehezkel and Ziv Hajbi in a Barkan factory, the Shin Bet security service said early Thursday.
Na’alowa, from the West Bank village of Shuweika near Tulkarem, remained on the run for over two months, repeatedly eluding capture by Israel security forces. A number of his relatives and alleged accomplices were detained and indicted as part of the manhunt.
