President Donald Trump spoke to Vladimir Putin over the phone Tuesday morning, after the Russian leader's overwhelming re-election victory, NBC News reported, citing a White House official. The win keeps Putin in office as Russia's president for another six years. His closest rival in the election, which was held Sunday, scored nearly 12 percent of the vote, while his most vocal opponent, Alexei Navalny, was barred from running in the race. The call between Trump and Putin also comes as the special counsel's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election intensifies. Trump has denied that his campaign colluded with Russia, and Putin has rejected accusations that the Kremlin had anything to do with any election interference. The Trump adm...
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, today (Tuesday, 20 March 2018), in Dimona, addressed the 8th Negev Conference. Following are excerpts from his remarks: "In wake of the film The Ancestral Sin, I instructed the Cabinet Secretary to check the issue with the World Zionist Organization. The check showed that while the documents are indeed open, they are not accessible. Therefore I made a decision – they will be accessible to everyone in Israel, to everyone in the world, completely accessible. As we did with the Yemenite children affair, so we will do here." "This morning, before coming here, I met with Elon Musk, a man of vision, perhaps the greatest technological visionary of our time. He is a genius. He told me that 'Israel is a technological power.' He said that h...
When Trayon White, a 33-year-old up and coming Washington DC City Council member, drove through a recent snow flurry, he decided to let everyone know just what he thought was behind the sudden snow storm: he blamed Jews. Steering his car through the city streets, White filmed himself musing, “Man, it just started snowing out of nowhere this morning, man” and, bizarrely, went on to blame a prominent Jewish banking family for the snow: “...that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man.  Be careful.” He then posted his rambling speech on Facebook. As astonished critics called on White to apologize, he initially defended his outrageous statements before posting an apology...
Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said she did not mean to offend Trump-supporting white women when she repeated findings suggesting that many of them took their voting cues from their husbands. But, Clinton said, she deeply believes that some women did not support her because of her gender. She wrote in a Saturday Facebook post:
“Do I believe that some women look at a powerful woman and question whether she can lead, maybe voting for the man their husband is voting for instead? It may not be universally true or easy to hear, but yes, it’s a dynamic still at play in our society. I know this because even I spent parts of my life wondering if I could achieve the same as male leaders, and a lot of that in...

President Donald Trump is preparing to impose a package of $60 billion in annual tariffs against Chinese products following through on a long-time threat that he says will punish China for intellectual property theft and create more American jobs. The tariff package, which Trump plans to unveil by Friday, was confirmed by four senior administration officials. Senior aides had presented Trump with a $30 billion tariff package that would apply to a range of products, but Trump directed them to roughly double the scope of the new trade levies. The package could be applied to more than 100 products, which Trump argues were developed by using trade secrets the Chinese stole from U.S. companies or forced them to hand over in exchange for access to its massive market. The situation remains flu...

One year ago, two young princes began to forge a friendship at a lunch meeting in the White House's regal State Dining Room. A snowstorm had kept away President Donald Trump's scheduled guest that day, German Chancellor Angela Merkel - giving the president and his advisers, including son-in-law Jared Kushner, more time to spend with the visiting son of Saudi King Salman. Kushner and Prince Mohammed bin Salman, both in their 30s, had met before, but this would be their first formal sit-down since Trump's inauguration, and a bond developed between the two men, according to people familiar with their relationship who spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak candidly. As their countries' chief negotiators on Israeli-Palestinian peace, Kushner and the Saudi prince wer...
STOCKHOLM—Sweden is moving to outlaw religious education. The country’s Secondary Education Minister Anna Ekström and Public Administration Minister Ardalan Shekarabi said they supported banning faith schools. “The important thing for us is that in school there are no confessional elements,” said Ekström, a member of the ruling Swedish Social Democratic Party. It means that  71 Swedish schools — 59 Christian, eleven Muslim, and one Jewish — would have to either close entirely or be “reformed” and secularized in accordance with a proposed new law. Shekarabi wrote in an op-ed for daily newspaper Aftonbladet that he supports banning faith schools, citing his experiences with gender segregation in his native Iran. Referencing p...

A wintry mix will usher in the beginning of spring. The rain and sleet begin during the Tuesday morning commute, then it starts mixing with some snow. Roads should just be wet during the day Tuesday. Widespread moisture will bring a rain-snow mix along the I-95 corridor, snow to the north and west, and rain to the south on Tuesday morning. Accumulations of a coating to 3 inches are possible by Tuesday evening, especially northwest of the city and mostly on the grass. The second round of the storm will begin Tuesday night, leaning more toward snow and sleet. Additional accumulation is expected, even on the roads, especially by sunrise Wednesday. Snow will continue on Wednesday, but it’ll have a hard time adding up on the roads during the daytime. Roads could turn slick or cover...
A device that exploded early Tuesday at a FedEx ground distribution facility in Texas, injuring one person, is likely linked to a string of bombings that have rocked the state's capital this month, federal officials said. Schertz Police Lt. Manny Casas told Fox News a medium-sized box was on the conveyor belt when the explosion occurred. Casas said a woman was treated for a “possible sound injury” and was released. AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - In the hunt for whoever is responsible for four bombings in Texas, investigators hope to crack the case by finding a sliver of forensic evidence or a telling video clip linking the attacker to the scene of at least one of the attacks, in which two people died and four were wounded. Experts who have looked at previous bombings believe the same person or people was responsible for three parcel bombings in Austin this month as well as a trip-wire bomb that went off in the Texas capital on Sunday. Police have not released details but have said the bombs were similar, powerful and related. "In a weird sense, this latest bomb helps law enforcement because there is tremendous trace evidence that exists after an explosion. Everything from lint to fiber to...
