President Donald Trump spoke to Vladimir Putin over the phone Tuesday morning, after the Russian leader's overwhelming re-election victory, NBC News reported, citing a White House official.
The win keeps Putin in office as Russia's president for another six years. His closest rival in the election, which was held Sunday, scored nearly 12 percent of the vote, while his most vocal opponent, Alexei Navalny, was barred from running in the race.
The call between Trump and Putin also comes as the special counsel's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election intensifies. Trump has denied that his campaign colluded with Russia, and Putin has rejected accusations that the Kremlin had anything to do with any election interference.

When Trayon White, a 33-year-old up and coming Washington DC City Council member, drove through a recent snow flurry, he decided to let everyone know just what he thought was behind the sudden snow storm: he blamed Jews.
Steering his car through the city streets, White filmed himself musing, “Man, it just started snowing out of nowhere this morning, man” and, bizarrely, went on to blame a prominent Jewish banking family for the snow: “...that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. President Donald Trump is preparing to impose a package of $60 billion in annual tariffs against Chinese products following through on a long-time threat that he says will punish China for intellectual property theft and create more American jobs.
The tariff package, which Trump plans to unveil by Friday, was confirmed by four senior administration officials.
Senior aides had presented Trump with a $30 billion tariff package that would apply to a range of products, but Trump directed them to roughly double the scope of the new trade levies. The package could be applied to more than 100 products, which Trump argues were developed by using trade secrets the Chinese stole from U.S. companies or forced them to hand over in exchange for access to its massive market.

Authorities said there has been a shooting at Great Mills High School in St. Mary’s County, Md., but it was not immediately clear whether anyone had been injured.
Cpl. Julie Yingling, a spokeswoman for the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, said at 8:15 a.m. that officials “have a shooting at Great Mills High School.”
“It is fluid,” she said of the situation.
On its website, St. Mary’s County Public Schools wrote, “There has been a shooting at Great Mills High School.” They also said “the school is on lockdown and the event is contained.”
When asked if anyone was hurt or if anyone was in custody, Yingling said, “we have no idea at this point.”

STOCKHOLM—Sweden is moving to outlaw religious education.
The country’s Secondary Education Minister Anna Ekström and Public Administration Minister Ardalan Shekarabi said they supported banning faith schools.
“The important thing for us is that in school there are no confessional elements,” said Ekström, a member of the ruling Swedish Social Democratic Party.
It means that 71 Swedish schools — 59 Christian, eleven Muslim, and one Jewish — would have to either close entirely or be “reformed” and secularized in accordance with a proposed new law.

GREAT MILLS, MD - A Maryland High School says they are on lockdown after a shooting Tuesday morning.
The shooting was reported at Great Mills High school in St. Mary's County. The school system posted on their website the incident is contained and the Sheriff's Office is on the scene.
The Sheriff's Office said for parents to not report to the school and to go to Leonardtown High School instead.

A wintry mix will usher in the beginning of spring.
The rain and sleet begin during the Tuesday morning commute, then it starts mixing with some snow. Roads should just be wet during the day Tuesday.
Widespread moisture will bring a rain-snow mix along the I-95 corridor, snow to the north and west, and rain to the south on Tuesday morning.
Accumulations of a coating to 3 inches are possible by Tuesday evening, especially northwest of the city and mostly on the grass.

A device that exploded early Tuesday at a FedEx ground distribution facility in Texas, injuring one person, is likely linked to a string of bombings that have rocked the state's capital this month, federal officials said.
Schertz Police Lt. Manny Casas told Fox News a medium-sized box was on the conveyor belt when the explosion occurred. Casas said a woman was treated for a “possible sound injury” and was released. He said the blast happened shortly after midnight.
Schertz police couldn’t immediately confirm what was in the package, but law enforcement officials told KSAT the medium-sized package contained metal shrapnel and nails and was headed to Austin when it exploded on a conveyor track.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The chance of getting multiple inches of snow in Baltimore County by Wednesday night has markedly increased. State highway crews have been out pre-treating highways and bridges in the northern Maryland counties for snow, high winds and flooding.

UPDATES: Police are searching for a truck driver who caused an 18-vehicle pileup on I-270 in Germantown Monday morning.
GERMANTOWN, MD — An unidentified white tractor-trailer that made a quick lane change caused an 18-vehicle crash that left four people injured on Interstate 270 south in Germantown Monday morning, officials said. EMS declared the crash a Mass Casualty Incident and are searching for the truck driver who caused the accident and sped away from the scene.
Police were called to the scene between Middlebrook Road and Montgomery Village Avenue at about 5:20 a.m.

AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - In the hunt for whoever is responsible for four bombings in Texas, investigators hope to crack the case by finding a sliver of forensic evidence or a telling video clip linking the attacker to the scene of at least one of the attacks, in which two people died and four were wounded.
Experts who have looked at previous bombings believe the same person or people was responsible for three parcel bombings in Austin this month as well as a trip-wire bomb that went off in the Texas capital on Sunday. A majority of Americans believes a faction of unelected officials is orchestrating policy in Washington, D.C., according to a new poll.
The poll notes that more than 7 in 10 Americans polled in each political group, Republican, Democrat and independent, believe in a deep state. Thirty-one percent of Republicans and 33 percent of independents say they believe a deep state “definitely exists,” while 19 percent of Democrats believe this.
