A Crack In A Window Grounds A New El Al Dreamliner In London
El Al on Tuesday, 27 Tishrei was compelled to ground its new Dreamliner which was scheduled to take off from London to Tel Aviv after a crack was found in a window. According to a Ynet report, the plane flew from Tel Aviv to London with the cracked window, not detailing how this determination was made.

Dow Hits 23,000 for the First Time
The Dow Jones industrial average traded higher on Tuesday, buoyed by strong quarterly results from UnitedHealth Group and Johnson & Johnson. The 30-stock index also reached 23,000 for the first time. Austrian University Students Overwhelmingly Condemn BDS Movement as ‘Antisemitic’
The Austrian National Union of Students on Friday condemned the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement against Israel as antisemitic, and urged for it to not be given funds or event space. The resolution received near unanimous support, with no votes against it and one abstention. The Supreme Court is intervening in a digital-age privacy dispute between the Trump administration and Microsoft over emails stored abroad. The justices say Monday they will hear the administration’s appeal of a lower court ruling in favor of Microsoft. Unearthed Letter From Jewish Inmate At Auschwitz Details Untold Horrors
A couple of months before Auschwitz was liberated in January 1945, a Jewish prisoner secretly wrote a letter outlining the horrors he had witnessed there. He placed it in a thermos, the thermos in a leather pouch, and he buried it. Now, for the first time, Marcel Nadjari’s words have been published in full. Historian Pavel Polian told Deutsche Welle the letter is one of nine buried documents found at the concentration camp. He described them as “the most central documents of the Holocaust.” The documents were written by Nadjari and four fellow members of the “Sonderkommando” unit, which was tasked with moving bodies from the gas chamber to the crematorium. FBI Offers Reward For Attack On North Carolina GOP Office
The FBI is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for arson and graffiti at a North Carolina Republican Party office last year. At the time, authorities said the Orange County GOP office was set on fire with a flammable device. Someone also spray-painted an anti-Republican slogan on the building which referred to “Nazi Republicans.” No one was inside the building at the time of the fire on Oct. 16, 2016. A news release from the FBI said a $10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to solving the crime. Fact-Checking Fake News On Facebook Works – Just Too Slowly
Facebook’s effort to limit the spread of fake news using outside fact-checkers appears to be having an effect — though that finding comes with a major caveat. Once a story receives a false rating from a fact-checker, Facebook says, subsequent “impressions” can fall off by 80 percent. Impressions count the number of times Facebook users see a particular post. But it routinely takes more than three days for a story to receive a false rating. Turkey To Extend State Of Emergency Declared After Coup
Turkey’s government says it will ask parliament to extend for a fifth time the state of emergency that was declared following last year’s failed military coup. Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said Monday the state of emergency would be prolonged by a further three months to allow a “more effective” fight against the coup-plotters and what he called terrorist groups. Turkey launched a massive crackdown after the coup, arresting some 50,000 people and dismissing more than 110,000 from government jobs. HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita, was taken to hospital during the night of 27 Tishrei (Monday to Tuesday) and was admitted. He was not feeling well and may have pneumonia. He was admitted to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. The rav was mesader keddushin for a talmid in Bnei Brak and complained of not feeling well and difficulty breathing afterward. He was taken to the hospital from the chupah. Those close to the rav explain he is sitting up in his room and his condition is “good”. Suspected US Missiles Kill 20 Terrorists In NW Pakistan
Pakistani intelligence officials say suspected U.S. missiles have struck a home in the Kurram tribal region, killing 20 terrorists. Two intelligence officials said missiles fired from a suspected US drone hit a compound in the Mukbal area near the Afghan border Monday evening. They added that it was being used by militants from Haqqani network and that one of their top commanders, Sangeen Wali, was killed. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief media. The strike comes a day after roadside bombs killed four security troops engaged in a search operation for militants in Kurram. Pakistan considers the drone strike a violation of its sovereignty, while the U.S. accuses Pakistan of providing safe havens for militants, which Pakistan denies.
