IDF troops responded to the attempted lynching of Jewish motorists near Chawarah last week. IDF officials learned that a Red Crescent ambulance intentionally blocked the victims to prevent them from extricating themselves from the life-threatening situation.
The ambulance is seen in the video, clearly leaving the motorists with nowhere to go. Baruch Hashem the IDF responded and extricated the Jewish motorists. The media was of course on hand as often, they are notified of the attacks in advance to ensure media coverage. .

Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in about a week, is scheduled to appear before a parole board to ask to have one-third removed from his prison sentence for good behavior. This is standard practice with all prisoners, including Olmert.
However, it was just a few days ago during a visit by one of his lawyers that prison guards realized Mr. Olmert passed documents to attorney Chananya Brandeis. Brandeis was checked upon leaving the prison in line with standard procedure, and the documents were discovered. A prisoner may not pass documents to anyone, including an attorney, without having them approved by prison officials. Olmert decided to bypass the regulations.

President Donald Trump will arrive in Israel on Monday, 26 Iyar, on another leg of his first trip to the region since being elected. If he holds to his announced schedule, President Trump will become the first president to visit the Kosel.

President Donald Trump on Sunday implored Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries to extinguish “Islamic extremism” emanating from the region, describing a “battle between good and evil” rather than a clash between the West and Islam.
In a pointed departure from his predecessor, Trump all but promised he would not publicly admonish Mideast rulers for human rights violations and oppressive reigns.

“We have converted a storage area into a temporary shul for our neighborhood. Must we put the shulchan in the middle when, as a result, we will have less seating capacity?”

In a major victory for nonpublic school students in the Lakewood School District, school administrators, newly informed by Agudath Israel of the nuances and changes in federal law, were able to gain greater access to Title I funding for their students.
One of the largest sources of funding for private schools, Title I is a federal program designed to help high need children in both public and private schools. Its latest iteration, known as the Every Student Succeed Act, or ESSA, would make a larger amount of Title I dollars and additional services available to nonpublic schools. In addition, multiple changes were recently made to the regulations that governed how these services would be provided.

President Donald Trump’s budget hasn’t been released yet, but that’s not stopping some of Capitol Hill’s most important Republicans from giving it a cold shoulder.
Trump’s blueprint for the 2018 budget year comes out Tuesday, and it’s certain to include a wave of cuts to benefit programs such as Medicaid, food stamps, federal employee pensions and farm subsidies.
The fleshed-out proposal follows up on an unpopular partial release in March that targeted the budgets of domestic agencies and foreign aid for cuts averaging 10 percent — and made lawmakers in both parties recoil.
The new cuts are unpopular as well.

In his motzei Shabbos shiur, HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita, Rosh Yeshivas Kisei Rachamim, addressed the imminent decision from the High Court of Justice vis-à-vis the egalitarian prayer area near the Kosel.
Rav Mazuz’ in his words has echoed the cry from Yahadut Hatorah and Shas, with both parties signaling to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that the Kosel will and must remain under Orthodox control, namely the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, and there will be no tolerance of any egalitarian prayer situation.
The chareidi elected officials have signaled that failure to meet their demands will lead to a coalition crisis.

Pashkavilim appears last week near the home of IDF Chief of Personnel Branch Major-General Moti Almoz. The pashkavilim called on him to stop the induction of chareidim into the IDF.

Although many on the left have expressed their approval of Robert Mueller being appointed as special counsel to investigate possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, Alan Dershowitz thinks Mueller could actually vindicate President Donald Trump, rather than bring about his downfall.
On “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Dershowitz, a legal scholar and Harvard University Law School professor, said he doesn’t see a crime that necessitated the appointment of a special counsel.

Brooklyn, NY - Detectives at the NYPD’s 63rd Precinct are searching for a hit and run driver who struck an Orthodox Jewish girl yesterday in Marine Park as she played outside with friends on Shabbos afternoon.
Police said that the accident took place just after 5:30 PM on E 31st Street just south of Kings Highway. The girl was crossing the street mid-block when she was struck by the vehicle which was traveling southbound on the one way street towards Avenue P. Police described the car as a red or maroon four door Honda Accord, with an estimated model year between 1999 and 2002.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - King Salman of Saudi Arabia says he is committed to stamping out the Islamic State group and other terrorist organizations.
Salman is speaking at a gathering of the leaders of more than 50 majority-Muslim countries attending the Arab-Islamic-American Summit in Riyadh.
He says that “we all, peoples and countries, reject in every language and in every form damaging the relations of Muslim countries with friendly countries and profiling countries based on a religious or sectarian basis.”
He’s also railing against Iran, calling the country “the spearhead of global terrorism.”

North Korea fired a medium-range missile on Sunday, U.S. and South Korean officials said, the latest ballistics test by a country speeding up its development of nuclear weapons and missiles.
The rocket was fired from an area near the North Korean county of Pukchang, in South Phyongan Province, and flew eastward about 500 kilometers (310 miles), said South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff. The U.S. Pacific Command said it tracked the missile before it landed in the sea.
White House officials traveling in Saudi Arabia with President Donald Trump said the system that was tested, which was last launched in February, had a shorter range than the missiles fired in North Korea’s most recent tests.

There are companies out there that specialize in making wigs (sheitels) from one’s own hair.
Generally speaking, these companies do it for those undergoing chemotherapies r”l, but others are also doing it. These companies state that the hair needs to be healthy enough to withstand the hand tying process. They require a minimum of 8 ounces of hair in order to make a custom wig, and point out that the average woman has 3-4 ounces of hair on her head. The cost is about $1000 and the length of the sheitel is 3 inches shorter than the hair submitted.
Our question, however is not in regard to the cost or the process. Our question is what the halacha is regarding using one’s own hair for a sheitel. Is it permitted, forbidden, or a machlokes?

Jerusalem - A senior Israeli Cabinet minister has voiced concern about the U.S.’s $110 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia.
Yuval Steinitz, a confidant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said Israeli officials will have to “hear the explanations” of the deal when President Donald Trump arrives in Israel on Monday.
Steinitz says it is crucial that Israel maintain its military edge over its Arab neighbors, despite warming ties with Sunni Arab countries like Saudi Arabia.
Steinitz says, “This is not a country that we have diplomatic relations with” and that it “is still a hostile country and nobody knows what the future holds.”
Steinitz says the deal is “definitely something that should trouble us.”

More than 100 bereaved families signed a letter calling on the American president to demand that the PA immediately halt the payments it makes to terrorists and their families.
One of the initiators of the letter is Yossi Tzur, whose son Assaf was murdered in a terrorist attack on bus No. 37 in Haifa in March 2003: "Three of my son's murderers were released in the Shalit deal and receive monthly money from the Palestinian Authority - blood money for the murder of a child.
