Between 6/22/16 and 7/22/16, there have been four bank robberies in the Pikesville Precinct. The first robbery occurred on 6/22/16 at the M&T Bank located at 2841 Smith Ave. 21209. The second robbery occurred on 7/1/16 at the M&T Bank located at 2841 Smith Ave. 21209. Suspect apprehensions were made in the first two cases.
The third robbery occurred on 7/18/16 at approximately 1:10 pm at the Bank of America located at 3621 Old Court Rd. 21208. The fourth robbery occurred on 7/22/16 at approximately 3:00 pm at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 2847 Smith Ave. 21209. With extreme heat forecast tomorrow, Dr. Wen urges residents to keep hydrated and reduce outside activity
BALTIMORE, MD (June 24, 2016)– With a heat index of up to 109 degrees expected tomorrow following a continued stretch of severe heat, Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen has issued a Code Red Heat Advisory for Monday, July 25th. The heat index is a measure of air temperature and relative humidity and indicates how hot it feels to individuals outside.
This is Baltimore City’s second Code Red declaration of the season.

Philadelphia - Democrats who gleefully jeered Republican divisions last week awoke to a political mess of their own making Monday as party unity behind Hillary Clinton proved much harder to secure.
Gathering for their convention in Philadelphia, Democrats struggled to shake lingering bitterness among supporters of defeated rival Bernie Sanders and dealt with the aftermath of a leadership shakeup at the top.

Philadelphia - Outgoing Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is being heckled at a breakfast of Florida delegates, with opponents shouting, “Shame!”
The Florida congresswoman announced Sunday that she would resign as the party’s chair at the end of this week’s Democratic National Convention.
Wasserman Schultz is telling the crowd during a raucous scene that “we have to make sure that we move together in a unified way.” But supporters of Bernie Sanders shouted at her during her brief remarks to the breakfast.
Her ouster came after a firestorm over hacked emails that suggested the DNC favored Hillary Clinton in the presidential primaries against Bernie Sanders.

New York - The Palestinian Authority has called on the United Nations Security Council to act against Israeli settlement building, in the wake of the Jerusalem Municipality’s decision to advance 770 new Jewish homes in its Gilo neighborhood, which is located over the Green Line.

New York - Verizon is buying Yahoo for $4.83 billion, marking the end of an era for a company that once defined the internet.
It is the second time in as many years that Verizon has snapped up the remnants of a fallen internet star as it broadens its digital reach. The nation’s largest wireless carrier paid $4.4 billion for AOL last year.
Yahoo will be rolled into Verizon’s AOL operations and CEO Marissa Meyers could be working again with AOL CEO Tim Armstrong, who worked with Mayer at Google for years and tried unsuccessfully to convince her to combine the two companies when they both remained independent.

Israel - France will never deny the “existing, true” Jewish historical rights to Jerusalem, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls pledged.
Valls made the statement in a letter penned to Shmuel Rabinovitch, the Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Sites of Israel.

London - London’s Golders Green underground train station was closed on Monday while police investigated an abandoned vehicle outside.
A spokesman for Transport for London said the station, which is located in the heart of the city’s Jewish community, was closed due to a security alert.
A London police spokesman said they had been alerted to an abandoned car near the station at 0700 GMT this morning. Police were trying to trace the owner and as a precaution they were looking for anything suspicious, the spokesman said.

Young man loses consciousness while submersing in mikva, drowns.
A young married man in his 20s died early Monday morning while immersing himself in a Bnei Brak mikva.
According to witnesses, the man lost consciousness and collapsed while submerged.
Emergency responders were called in, but were unable to revive the man and were ultimately forced to declare him dead on the scene.
United Hatzalah volunteer responder Yossi Teitelboim described the incident.

The Regional Council of Jerusalem is expected to approve tomorrow (Tuesday) the building of housing units across the so-called "green-line" after a hiatus of several months, in spite of international pressure against doing so, reports Channel 2 news.
The plan includes 57 new housing units in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem, an area in which Israeli building faces opposition by the international community.

2 dead, up to 17 wounded in shooting at Florida nightclub. 3 suspects in custody. Victims as young as 12-years old.
At least 2 people are dead and as many as 17 wounded in a mass-shooting in a Florida nightclub.
The incident took place at the Blu Club in Fort Myers, about two hours northwest of Miami.
One witness told local television the scene was like "a madhouse". Another witness said she heard approximately 30 rounds fired from multiple weapons.
The background of the shooting is as of yet unclear.
The shooting took place during a special "teen night" event. Most of the victims are reportedly in their teens, with some as young as 12-years old.

Berlin - An explosion killed at least one person and injured 12 others near the German city of Nuremberg on Sunday and authorities said it was believed to be intentional.
A police spokesman said the person killed in the blast, a man with a backpack, was likely carrying an explosive device and acted alone.
There was no immediate information on his identity but the spokesman added that three of the 12 people injured were in serious condition.
It was the fourth violent incident in Germany in a week and came as the country was still on edge after the killing of nine people by an 18-year-old Iranian-German gunman in Munich on Friday.

Jerusalem - The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announced on Sunday that Director General Dore Gold met with the president of the Republic of Chad, Idriss Déby Itno, at the Chadian president’s palace prior to establishing diplomatic relations with the Republic of Guinea last week.
“The meeting took place in the wake of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to four African states, reinforcing the importance with which the prime minister views Israel’s relations with Africa,” stated the MFA on Sunday.

Philadelphia - Presumptive Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine was one of only 17 senators in April not to sign a letter urging US President Barack Obama to increase the US military aid package to Israel.
The bipartisan letter, sponsored by Chris Coons (D-Delaware) and Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), urged Obama to conclude a “robust” new military aid package “that increases aid to Israel and retains the current terms of the existing aid program.”

Berlin - German police arrested a 16-year-old Afghan youth on Sunday on suspicion of a connection to the killing of nine people by an 18-year-old gunman in Munich, authorities said.
The youth was under investigation for possibly having failed to report the plans of the gunman, who later shot himself, a police statement said.
“There is a suspicion that the 16-year-old is a possible tacit accomplice to (Friday’s) attack,” it said. Police earlier said the gunman was a deranged Iranian-German who was fixated with mass killings but not inspired by Islamist militancy.

Berlin - Police in the southern German city of Ansbach say a man was killed when an explosive device he was believed to be carrying went off near an open-air music festival, injuring 10 people.
Ansbach police said in a statement early Monday that just after 10 p.m. Sunday they were alerted to an explosion in the city center.
They said that “a man, according to our current knowledge the perpetrator, died” in the blast.
Ansbach police could not immediately be reached for further comment.
