Baltimore, MD – Jan. 25, 2026 (BJL) After spending the better part of Sunday on the front lines helping neighbors dig out from the weekend’s heavy snowfall, volunteers from Chaverim of Baltimore are urging residents to stay off the roads as evening sets in.Following a full day of clearing sidewalks, assisting stranded motorists, and helping families navigate the storm’s aftermath, Chaverim reported that while the heaviest snow has tapered off, the shift to sleet and freezing rain has made conditions especially dangerous.“We’ve been out here all day helping people get their cars out and clearing paths, but the situation on the ground has changed,” a Chaverim representative shared Sunday evening. “What looks like slush is turning into solid ice. Baltimore County, MD - Jan. 26, 2026 - We are a little more than 24 hours since snow blanketed Baltimore County. Many of the main roads are passable, but as you can see from this map, there is still a lot of work to be done. It is still highly advised that if you do not need to be out on the road, stay home. It is going to take crews at least all day today to plow throughout the county. Our crews have been working around the clock, many of whom have not seen their loved ones since Saturday. We are working diligently to clear not only the main roads, but side streets and cul de sacs. Please be safe and let our crews do their work. Als...
