Secretary of State Marco Rubio has denied Palestinian leaders visas to attend next month’s United Nations General Assembly, citing longstanding U.S. law that prohibits recognition of Palestinian statehood and sanctions the Palestinian Authority for so-called "pay for slay" payments to terrorists.

The IDF reports that the Houthi Chief of Staff and Defense Minister arrived at the conference hall that was attacked. According to military sources, they are still gathering the results of the damage from the attack and information about the officials who were present.

The IDF and Shin Bet recovered the body of Ilan Weiss from Gaza. Weiss, aged 55, was murdered on October 7th, 2023, as he ran to the weapons storage room in Kibbutz Be'eri, where he lived. The terrorists then took his body to the Gaza Strip.

Baltimore, MD - Aug. 28, 2025 - BGE is reminding customers that there's still some time to apply for its Customer Relief Fund, which aims to help people behind on their energy bills.
The Customer Relief Fund program opened up on July 1st as a partnership between BGE's parent company, Exelon, and the United Way of Central Maryland.
A $15 million donation from Elexlon is funding the relief being administered by the United Way.
So far, a little more than half of the 50,000 applicants have been approved, and just over $11 million has been committed to customers.
The program will continue through September 30th or until the money runs out.
BGE says the average grant to eligible customers is just over $400.

A temporary ground stop was issued for incoming flights at Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday morning because of Air Traffic Control communication issues.
ATC controllers in the center told ABC News they lost their radio frequencies.
Officials said incoming flights to Newark and Teterboro airports were ground-stopped due to equipment issues at the FAA until 12:30 p.m.
Departing flights did not appear to be impacted.
A spokesperson with United Airlines described the ground stop as a "glitch."
This is the second outage for controllers at the Philadelphia ATC center that handles air traffic control for Newark airspace in the last 24 hours.

The Israeli Air Force on Thursday struck targets in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen.
The strikes were conducted during an address by Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.
According to foreign reports, the strike targeted safe houses where senior Houthi officials were hiding.
Hezbollah affiliate al-Mayadeen reported over ten strikes in the capital.
Defense Minister Israel Katz, together with IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir and the senior IDF command spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and approved the IDF strike in Yemen.
The strike is the second in Yemen this week, after a series of strikes on Houthi targets on Sunday.
