Baltimore, MD - April 4, 2025 - Baltimore City is suing two popular sports gambling sites.
The suit was filed in Baltimore City against Draft Kings and Fan Duel.
It alleges that the sports betting firms used deceptive practices to target problem gamblers and further gambling addiction.
Specifically, the suit argues promotions like bonus bets attract new gamblers, and the firms used analytics to identify those who suffer from gambling disorders.
The Washington, D.C., firm DiCello Levitt is partnering with the city law department in filing the suit.
Mayor Brandon Scott said in a news release, “These companies are engaging in shady practices, and the people of our city are literally paying the price.”

China announced Friday that it will impose a 34% tariff on imports of all U.S. products beginning April 10, part of a flurry of retaliatory measures following U.S. President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” slate of double-digit tariffs.
