Baltimore, MD - Nov. 18, 2024 - Authorities are investigating multiple mailbox fires Monday afternoon near downtown Baltimore.
City fire officials told 11 News that firefighters extinguished several mailbox fires in the area of the 500 block of North Paca Street.
No injuries were reported.
Baltimore police and the U.S. Postal Service are investigating.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service sent a statement to 11 News, saying: "Postal Inspectors along with special agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) responded to these incidents. I do not have any detailed information at this time other than the subsequent investigation will be conducted by Baltimore police/fire."

Maryland State Police said all northbound lanes of I-270 were closed in Frederick County.
