A senior Hamas official on Thursday rejected a partial deal which would include the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for a temporary ceasefire, Al Hadath reported.
According to the report, Hamas' Taher al-Nunu stressed that the terror group rejects a temporary ceasefire, but will support any proposal which will lead to a permanent end to the war.
The refusal follows reports of negotiations between Egypt and Israel for a two-week ceasefire in Gaza, during which four Israeli hostages will be released and negotiations will be held for the release of four Israeli hostages in exchange for ten convicted terrorists for each hostage.

Jerusalem, Israel - Oct. 31, 2024 - Rabbi Kalman Bar, the Chief Rabbi of Netanya, was elected on Thursday to serve as the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel.
The elections were held between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. at the Chief Rabbinate headquarters in Jerusalem. 136 out of the 140 members of the electoral body participated in the voting.
The four members of the body who did not cast their votes were Emek Hefer Regional Council head Galit Shaul, the Rabbi of Rechasim Yaakov Sonnenfeld, MK Yitzhak Kroizer (Otzma Yehudit), and Bat Yam Mayor Tzvika Brot.
Rabbi Bar received 77 votes while his opponent, Petah Tikva Chief Rabbi Micha Halevi received only 58 votes.

We will be having hespedim in shul to commemorate the shloshim on Sunday, November 10 at 10 AM. The shloshim is open to both men and women and will take place in the main shul. The rav will deliver divrei hesped. In addition, the teleconference line will be open for those who are unable to attend in person.

A woman in her 60s and a man in his 20s were killed wounded on Thursday by a rocket strike during a barrage in the Haifa Bay Area.
MDA is reporting that another man in his 70s was lightly wounded and updated that the three are suffering from shrapnel wounds.

Baltimore, MD - Oct. 31, 2024 - Today marks the final opportunity for in-person early voting in Maryland.
Polling places will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. However, election officials have stated that anyone in line by 8 p.m. will still be allowed to vote.
As of Oct. 29, 1.21 million early votes have already been cast, representing 25.2% of the state’s voting-age population.

Baltimore, MD - Oct. 31, 2024 - Marilyn Mosby's defense is again asking Judge Lydia Kay Griggsby to replace her home detention with a curfew, outlining why they believe her job security requires more flexibility.
The former Baltimore City's State Attorney latest plea with the court came in light of her new job offer to serve as Director of Global Strategic Planning at an undisclosed California-based company. While the enterprise is headquartered in California, Mosby will be stationed in Maryland. According to her defense, this new position "will require routine travel to varying locations throughout Maryland."

ISA and Israel Police on Thursday morning announced the arrest of Refael and Lala Goliev, a 32-year-old couple from Lod, after the couple carried out acts of espionage on behalf of Iran.
During their interrogation, it became clear that Refael was enlisted by Alshaan Agayev, a 56-year-old Azeri, who is operating on behalf of Iranian parties.
As part of his activities, Refael tracked security sites in Israel, including the Mossad, and also followed an academic employed by the INSS, who Iran had marked for a physical attack. Baltimore Jewish Home: Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from?
Rabbi Naiman: I was born and raised in Baltimore, with roots here for seven generations. I attended Torah Institute and then Ner Yisrael. At 19, I came to Eretz Yisrael to learn in the Mir, and I’ve been learning and teaching Torah here ever since. My family and I currently live in Ramat Bet Shemesh.
