Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the United Nations General Assembly on Friday “was part of a diversion” to lull Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah into a false sense of security, a senior Israeli official told the Telegraph. The Israeli prime minister’s address, and visit to New York, was “intended to make Hezbollah’s leader believe that Israel would not take dramatic actions while Netanyahu was physically in the United States,” the Telegraph reported, citing the unnamed Israeli official. Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) shared a post suggesting the talk was a “diversion.” “The United Nations is finally good for something,” the congressman wrote.
The Hamas terror group responded to the elimination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, claiming that it will only increase the struggle against Israel. In their statement, Hamas claimed that Nasrallah "fell martyr on his way to Allah." "We express our honest condolences, comfort, and solidarity with the Lebanese nation, our brothers, and our brothers in Hezbollah and in the Islamic resistance in Lebanon," the Hamas statement read. Hamas also said that Nasrallah's death is "barbaric Zionist aggression," and a "despicable crime and act of murder" which shows the "cruel" nature of Israel, and that Israel's policies threaten peace and security in the world. The terror group also blamed the US government for Nasrallah's death, due to US support for the "occup...
Baltimore, MD - Sept. 28, 2024 - A man with a history of impersonating police is facing criminal charges after he stole an encrypted radio from one of the Baltimore Police Department's district substations and used it to interfere with officer activity over the weekend. Charging documents show that Reche Simpson, 26, gained access to the department's Northwestern District substation on Sept. 21. That's when investigators believe that he was able to swipe a Motorola APX6000 from a charging dock located in a secure part of the station. Security camera footage recorded Simpson entering through a side gate at the substation in a Toyota Camry. He initially tried to "gain access to the building by displaying a badge on his shirt," according to court records. Additionally, he tol...
US President Joe Biden called for a ceasefire in Lebanon on Saturday, when asked by reporters if an Israeli ground incursion into Lebanon was inevitable. "It's time for a ceasefire," Biden told reporters in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, as quoted by Reuters. Asked if the United States would respond to missile attacks on US warships in the Red Sea, Biden replied, "We're responding." Earlier on Saturday, Biden issued a statement following the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon. "Hassan Nasrallah and the terrorist group he led, Hezbollah, were responsible for killing hundreds of Americans over a four-decade reign of terror," Biden said. "His death from an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Am...
Massive rains from powerful Hurricane Helene left people stranded, without shelter and awaiting rescue Saturday, as the cleanup began from a tempest that killed at least 56 people, caused widespread destruction across the U.S. Southeast and left millions without power. “I’ve never seen so many people homeless as what I have right now,” said Janalea England, of Steinhatchee, Florida, a small river town along the state’s rural Big Bend, as she turned her commercial fish market into a storm donation site for friends and neighbors, many of whom couldn’t get insurance on their homes. Helene blew ashore in Florida’s Big Bend region as a Category 4 hurricane late Thursday with winds of 140 mph (225 kph). From there, it quickly moved throu...
The Israeli strike that killed Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah was a “measure of justice” for victims of a four-decade “reign of terror,” President Joe Biden said Saturday. The comments came after Lebanon’s Hezbollah group confirmed earlier Saturday that Nasrallah, one of the group’s founders, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut the previous day. Biden noted that the operation to take out Nasrallah took place in the broader context of the conflict that began with Hamas’ massacre of Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023. “Nasrallah, the next day, made the fateful decision to join hands with Hamas and open what he called a ‘northern front’ against Israel,” Biden said in a statement. He also...
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening (Saturday, 28 September 2024), at the Kirya in Tel Aviv [translated from Hebrew]:"If someone rises up to kill you, kill him first.'Yesterday, the State of Israel eliminated the arch-murderer Hassan Nasrallah. We have settled accounts with someone who was responsible for the murders of countless Israelis and many nationals of other countries, including hundreds of Americans and dozens of French.Nasrallah was not just another terrorist, he was the terrorist. He was the axis of the axis, the main engine of Iran's axis of evil.He and his people were the architects of the plan to destroy Israel. He was not only operated by Iran, he also frequently operated Iran. Therefore, at the beginning of the week, I came to the conclusion that the powe...
In his first statement after the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, accused that, "the Zionists have learned nothing from their war in Gaza." Khamenei clarified that Iran stands alongside Hezbollah, and that "the fate of the region will be determined by the force of resistance." According to him, "the Zionists are too small to significantly harm the strong structure of Hezbollah. Lebanon will make the enemy regret." According to an earlier report by the Reuters news agency, sources familiar with the matter said that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, "was moved to a safe place with enhanced security measures." They said this shortly after the IDF confirmed that Hezbollah's Secretary General Hassan Nasral...
Israel followed the movements of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah over the course of months, The New York Times reported. The IDF confirmed the Friday elimination on Saturday morning, and more than three hours later, Hezbollah confirmed Nasrallah's death as well. According to three senior Israeli defense officials who spoke to The New York Times, Israel decided to strike Nasrallah this week because they believed that he would soon disappear to a new location and the opportunity would be missed. Two of the officials told the Times that over 80 bombs were used to kill Nasrallah, dropped over the course of several minutes. The officials did not specify the bombs' weight or type. However, other reports said that the bombs each carried approximately one t...

F-15I aircraft from the 69th fighter squadron at 6:20 p.m. on Friday night dropped close to 100 bombs on Hezbollah’s underground headquarters in the heart of Beirut, killing the terror group’s chief of 32 years, Hassan Nasrallah, and potentially reordering the region. Nasrallah was killed, alongside other Hezbollah commanders including Ali Karaki, Hezbollah’s new military chief designate and current commander of the southern front, whom the IDF has just missed killing last week. The attack involved a decade of intelligence collected both by the IDF and the Mossad as well as a variety of last-minute deceptions to ensure that Nasrallah would not flee the area.  It also involved GBU-31 bunker buster bombs in order to drive down deep enough un...
IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari on Friday evening provided an update to the public and stated that Israel is going to imminently strike three buildings in Beirut where Hezbollah has been hiding anti-ship missiles. Hagari called on the residents of these three buildings to evacuate immediately. The IDF Spokesperson also said that the IDF was still looking into the results of the strike on the Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut, but added that it "was a very accurate strike". He would not comment on whether Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was in the building at the time of the strike and would only say that the IDF would provide additional updates when there are updates to provide. "The IDF is ready in all sectors. There is no change in the directives of the Home Front Command,” sai...
This week’s shtikle comes with some sad news, the passing of my dear uncle, Rabbi Dr. Israel Rivkin, z”l, in Yerushalayim. This week’s shtikle is dedicated le’iluy nishmaso, Yisrael ben Refael Zev, z”l. Nitzavim contains a most important and timely discussion of the significance of teshuvah and the study of Torah. The pesukim proclaim   "For this mitzvah (the whole Torah, according to Rashi) that I command you today is not removed from you, nor is it far. It is not in the heavens that you may say who will go up to the heavens and take it for us and teach it to us and we shall do it. Nor is it across the sea that you may say who will cross the sea and take it for us and teach us and we shall do it." (30:11-13) At ...
