Palestinian terror group Hamas has partially rejected a list of hostages that Israel insists must be released in the first phase of any ceasefire deal, according to a Monday report. Kan news, citing an unnamed Palestinian source, said Hamas is willing to release 22 of the 34 hostages on the list, but is refusing to agree to the release of the other 12. Instead, the report stated, the group offered to release 22 living hostages and 12 bodies during the first phase of a potential deal. Israel turned down the notion and made it clear that it would only accept living hostages during the initial stage of a deal, the report added. The report did not provide further details on the hostages Hamas is reportedly refusing to release. Earlier this month, Egypt’s Al-Ghad outlet reported that I...
Air defenses intercepted a ballistic missile launched at Israel from Yemen that triggered sirens across central Israel late Monday night, the military said, in the seventh such nighttime attack in less than two weeks. The missile was intercepted “before it crossed into Israeli territory”, the military said, and sirens sounded across the center of the country shortly after 11 p.m. for fear of falling debris. The missile was shot down with the Arrow long-range missile defense system, which is designed to take out ballistic missiles while they are still outside the atmosphere. Despite being intercepted outside the country’s borders and at a high altitude, fragments can continue to fall at a similar trajectory and reach Israel. There was no major damage as a result of the ...

Baltimore, MD - Dec. 31, 2024  - Change is just around the corner for Maryland drivers. On New Year's Day, if you're caught speeding in a work zone it may cost you more, depending on how fast you're going and if workers are there, it's an even stiffer fine at double the cost. "We do tend to see good compliance with speed limits when we do use automated speed enforcement in our work zones. We're hoping that this just brings more attention to it," Deputy Chief Operations Officer with the Maryland State Highway Administration Teri Soos said. Maryland is one of 16 states that has automated speed enforcement, which began in 2009. This new tiered system is the second wave of changes lawmakers passed in the wake of a deadly crash on I-695 where six construct...

The US called on the UN Security Council to respond to Iran’s “flagrant violations” of its resolutions to arming terrorist groups, and implored members with direct channels to Tehran to press its leaders to stop the Houthis from launching attacks that put civilians in harm’s way.
