It was a typical winter Motzei Shabbos, and R' Shuly Lieber was learning at a Motzei Shabbos learning program with his son Ari. The learning had been going well as they reviewed sugyos in Perek Hakones in preparation for the upcoming test on Sunday. They had made it through half of the material when the speaker of the evening began, followed by the raffles. It seemed like the learning was winding down for the evening, and Ari, eager to head home, suggested they leave after the raffles.

Google announced Tuesday that it plans to update the names of two major geographical landmarks in accordance with an executive order from President Donald Trump.
The tech giant said in an X post it plans to update the name of Alaska’s Denali mountain to Mt. McKinley and the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
“We have a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources,” Google said in the X post.

Baltimore, MD - Jan. 28, 2025 - Baltimore police are asking parents to stay alert as some kids are being targeted for their North Face jackets.
Police say the kids are not only being targeted but robbed of the jackets.
They list the following tips to prevent any other incidents:
Be cautious and alert when outside
Avoid displaying valuables openly
Police also say to proceed with caution when scrolling on social media."If you come across any posts on social media marketplaces selling items like North Face jackets under suspicious circumstances, please proceed with caution. Report any suspicious activity or sellers to the platform administrator immediately," police said in a social media post.

Montgomery County, MD - Jan. 28, 2025 - On an afternoon in mid-January, a Montgomery County police drone tracked a shoplifting suspect as he made his way from a Wheaton CVS to the entrance of a nearby Metro station, where a patrol unit intercepted and arrested him.
Police flight records show that the drone, piloted by officers at a command center in Rockville, then returned to its station on a nearby rooftop to await the next 911 call.
