Baltimore, MD - Jan. 28, 2025:Background: In a recent shocking decision,  the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for key Israeli leaders based on false charges of “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” in Israel’s post October 7th war against Hamas. Israel is not a member state of the ICC, and as a nation with an independent judicial system, according to the ICC’s own “principle of complementarity”  Israel should be immune from ICC prosecution. The ICC decision therefore represents a politically motivated and antisemitic attack on the Jewish State. The Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act is a bill in the U.S. Senate (having already passed the U.S. House) that declares that the ICC’s actions against Is...

It was a typical winter Motzei Shabbos, and R' Shuly Lieber was learning at a Motzei Shabbos learning program with his son Ari. The learning had been going well as they reviewed sugyos in Perek Hakones in preparation for the upcoming test on Sunday. They had made it through half of the material when the speaker of the evening began, followed by the raffles. It seemed like the learning was winding down for the evening, and Ari, eager to head home, suggested they leave after the raffles. As the raffles were being drawn, Ari turned to his father and asked, “What happened in Eretz Yisroel over Shabbos?” It was an unusual timing for that question, thereby catching R' Shuly a bit off guard. R' Shuly responded, “It seems there were negotiations going on between H...

Montgomery County, MD - Jan. 28, 2025 - On an afternoon in mid-January, a Montgomery County police drone tracked a shoplifting suspect as he made his way from a Wheaton CVS to the entrance of a nearby Metro station, where a patrol unit intercepted and arrested him.  Police flight records show that the drone, piloted by officers at a command center in Rockville, then returned to its station on a nearby rooftop to await the next 911 call. The drone is one of four operated by the Montgomery County Department of Police. The year-old drone response program is the first of its kind in Maryland, with drones stationed in Gaithersburg, Silver Spring and Wheaton. The drones have responded to nearly 2,000 calls since the program’s launch, often reaching the scene before po...
Israel’s newly appointed ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, revealed in an exclusive interview with The Jerusalem Post that Israel is "closer than ever" to normalization with Saudi Arabia, a development he called a “game changer for the region and beyond.” Leiter, who officially began his role on Friday, described normalization with Saudi Arabia as part of a broader strategic realignment in the Middle East following the degradation of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other Iranian proxies. "We’re closer to Saudi Arabia because we’ve degraded Hamas. The fall of Assad and the weakening of Iran’s influence have brought us to a moment of opportunity," he said. The ambassador linked the potential agreement to Israel’s r...
CNN anchor Jim Acosta announced on Tuesday that he would exit the network, urging viewers not to "give into the lies" on his way out.  "You may have seen some reports about me and this show and after giving all of this some careful consideration, and weighing an alternative timeslot CNN offered me, I have decided to move on," Acosta told viewers.  "I am grateful to CNN for the nearly 18 years I spent here doing the news. People often ask me if the highlight of my career at CNN was at the White White House covering Donald Trump. Actually, no. That moment came here," Acosta added, showing a photo of him covering President Obama’s trip to Cuba in 2016 and questioning dictator Raul Castro. "As a song of a Cuban refugee, I took home this lesson. It is never a good time to bow...
President Donald Trump said that the construction of an Iron Dome-like shield for the U.S. is a top priority for him on Monday, calling for "immediate" work to be done on the project before signing an executive order. Trump made the remarks at a Republican dinner in Florida on Monday, while commending his recently-confirmed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. After landing at Joint Base Andrews that night, he confirmed that he signed an executive order regarding the Iron Dome on the plane. "Pete Hegseth, who's going to be great, by the way… I think he's going to be fantastic," Trump said at the event. "I know him very well. I think he's going to be fantastic." "He's what we need, to immediately begin the construction of a state-of-the-art Iron Do...
President Trump has repeatedly proposed relocating the population of Gaza for their own benefit. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, he explained the reasoning: "People are dying there, and everything is demolished. We need to clean that place out." He later stated that he wanted to build housing for Gazans "far from conflict" and tell them 'You know, it's over.'" As detailed in other press conferences, Trump's plan would involve the complete relocation of all of Gaza's population to alternative housing in a different country to rehabilitate the Gaza Strip in their absence. In a recent estimate, he claimed that such a project would involve moving 1.5 million people. Such a relocation has an estimated cost in the billions of dollars, aside from ongoing costs o...

Wrong Tefillin           Yehudah  put on his tefillin one morning as he always did and upon finishing davening he noticed that he had accidentally put on his Rabbeinu Tam tefillin instead of his Rashi tefillin. Yehudah quickly took off the Rabbeinu Tam tefillin and as he was ready to put on the Rashi tefillin realized that he has a dilemma. Should he make a new bracha on the Rashi tefillin, or is the bracha that was made on the Rabbeinu Tam tefillin sufficient to cover the Rashi teffilin?           The question here is twofold. Firstly, is the bracha that h...
Baltimore, MD - Jan. 27, 2025 - Two former Baltimore City prosecutors filed a lawsuit on behalf of one former and one current Baltimore police officer on Monday claiming there is widespread corruption and misconduct within the city police agency’s internal affairs unit. Attorneys Patrick Jennings and Michael Turiello worked together for nearly a decade at the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office, where they were assigned to the Major Investigations and Narcotics Units. Now in private practice, they allege that Deputy Police Commissioner Brian Nadeau improperly took control of his misconduct investigation and is engaged in a series of improper pressure campaigns to intimidate Baltimore Police Department officers.

Annapolis, MD - Jan. 27, 2025 - Maryland's Attorney General Anthony Brown released guidance for state and local law enforcement on their role in federal immigration policies as debate on the topic swirls. The guidance is an update to policies outlined in 2017 addressing changes in Maryland law. “Maryland law ensures police handle immigration enforcement in a way that builds trust with immigrant communities, helping them feel safe to report and prevent crime. The federal government cannot compel state and local law enforcement to enforce immigration laws,” Attorney General Brown said. “This guidance ensures that law enforcement agencies understand the scope and limitations of their authority and makes clear that the rule of law does not change depending on the feder...
