It is becoming more and more popular for manufacturers to put various labels on cereal boxes, such as “Large Size,” “Party Size,” “Family Size,” “Giant Size,” and even “Mega Size.” What is the difference between each one? Recently, my curiosity got the best of me, and while shopping through the cereal section at a Walmart, I actually maneuvered some of the boxes around, and placed the different sized boxes next to each other, to once and for all settle all doubt as to which box is actually the biggest. I strongly believe that every person should do at least one thing for the betterment of the world. For me, while I hope to contribute positively to the world in other ways as well, this cereal-box-maneuvering-tactic was my personal ...

A traumatic episode between the members of the royal family of Amram transpires this week.  Miriam, the heroic and devoted sister of Moshe, gets wind of Moshe separating from family life with Tzipporah, his loyal wife. Suspecting that Tzipporah has been left isolated and abandoned, she counsels with her holy brother Aharon sharing her dissatisfaction with the leader of the Jewish nation, their youngest brother, and his behavior.  Speculating that perhaps his physically distancing from Tzipporah is due to his spiritual stance as a prophet that justifies his always maintaining a level of purity which will be compromised by intimate contact with his wife, she questions why then she and Aharon is, who are also prophets, not similarly prohibited.  G-d angered, responds by dist...

The Supreme Court in a 8-1 decision upheld a federal law that disarms people under domestic-violence restraining orders, ruling it complies with the court’s recent expansion of Second Amendment rights.  Under that two-year-old precedent, which found a right to bear arms outside the home for the first time, the court has prescribed a new test requiring gun control measures fit within the nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation.  Chief Justice John Roberts, writing for the majority, noted a tradition of disarming individuals found to pose a credible threat to the physical safety of another, rejecting a defendant’s challenge to the gun possession ban. “Since the founding, our Nation’s firearm laws have i...
Pepsi Cola has caused an uproar in Lebanon after introducing a new logo which locals claim is reminiscent of the Israeli flag, Israel Hayom reported, citing Lebanese media. The report said that users in Lebanon are claiming that local company S.M.L.C, the bottler of Pepsi Cola in Lebanon, placed the redesigned logo solely on the caps of its bottles while retaining the old logo on the bottle itself. This unexpected move, launching the dual-logo products in Lebanese markets earlier this week, prompted attorney Mohammed Ziad Jaafil to file a formal complaint with the Public Prosecution Office in Beirut on Wednesday. Although Pepsi has not announced a change to its logo, users were outraged after noticing a blue-and-white redesign on its caps. Israel Hayom could not inde...
US officials have serious concerns that Israel's aerial defense system would not be able to stand up against a large-scale Hezbollah attack if an all-out war were to occur, CNN reported on Thursday. According to the report, Israeli officials told the US they are planning to shift resources from southern Gaza to northern Israel in preparation for a possible offensive in Lebanon. “We assess that at least some” Iron Dome batteries “will be overwhelmed,” a senior administration official told the American news outlet. According to an Israeli official, it would be more likely if Hezbollah conducted a large-scale attack principally using precision-guided weapons, which could be challenging for the system to defend against. A separate US official confirme...
The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Speak to Aaron and say to him: “When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall cast their light toward the face of the menorah (Vayikra 8:1-2)”  Aharon was distressed. He felt left out and marginalized. The Tribal Princes brought beautiful and significant offerings to mark the dedication of the Mizbeyach (altar): Animals, gold, silver. Incredible gifts of enormous value were brought to initiate this sacred space. But Aharon was not included. Neither he nor his tribe were part of this grand dedication. But God tells Aharon, “Do not despair; your lot is greater than theirs for I have given you (and your descendants) the mitzvah to kindle the Menorah.” (Rashi 8:2) God is trying to soothe Aharon’s sadness...

Amtrak later said a brush fire in Secaucus was also causing issues for trains. "As a result of two separate issues in the New York area, Amtrak service is temporarily disrupted between Philadelphia and New Haven," Amtrak said in a statement. Today, Baltimore officials announced a landmark lawsuit against some major companies. The suit is against PepsiCo, Coca Cola, Frito Lay and plastic manufacturing companies for their roles in creating "a plastic pollution crisis." Baltimore alleges these companies created a public nuisance by creating products they know will cause harm to the environment. When littered, these plastic bottles cause damage to the wildlife. They contain chemicals that make their way into the water and soil. Recent studies show microplastics have even been found in human organs. “We are continuously working to make Baltimore a greener, more resilient city that is ready to take on the climate challenges facing the entire world and one that prioritizes the health of our residents,” said Mayor Bra...
