Owings Mills, MD. — Jan. 11, 2018 - The Sam's Club location in Owings Mills is closing, which eliminates jobs for the store's 169 employees, Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz's office said in a statement Thursday.
SkyTeam 11 video showed cars in the parking lot of the store on Reisterstown Road Thursday afternoon, but the store was closed.
Kamenetz released a statement, saying, "Donald Trump promised us that giving hundreds of billions in tax cuts to big businesses would grow the economy. He lied again. I am reaching out to Walmart this morning to make sure they live up to their responsibilities to assist employees at Sam's Club who have worked hard to benefit the company. The county will also provide assistance in securing jobs for these hard working people to keep them from the unemployment line."
NBC News is learning of other Sam's Club store closures elsewhere in the country.
