A 23-year-old Israeli was killed in a car accident in Romania on Monday. His family has been notified.

The Foreign Ministry said that the Israeli consulate in Bucharest, Rina Dvir, is handling the case and is assisting in transferring the body for burial in Israel.

Last March, two Israeli medical students were killed in a car accident in Romania.

The two, Muhammad Jabarin from Lod and Ahmad Dahamshah from Kafr Kana, were in a car with three other friends when they collided with a second vehicle near Bucharest. The car carrying the five Israelis then skidded off the road and into the Dambovita river.

The bodies of the two were buried in Israel.
