After a yearlong search for the right candidate, SCY High is proud to announce the hiring of Rabbi Shmuel Miller as our Director of Advancement.
Rabbi Miller brings three decades of experience in community engagement, Jewish education and leadership. He is very much looking forward to building on the successes and strengths of SCY High. Rabbi Miller will focus on broadening SCY High's community engagement, marketing and recruitment efforts. SCY High will also benefit from Rabbi Miller's creative approach to Jewish education as he joins the Judaic staff.
Rabbi Miller holds a BA in Psychology from UCLA and a post-graduate degree in Adolescent Mental Health from the Tavistock Clinic, and he will be completing his Masters from Northeastern University. He received his Smicha and Kabbalah in Shechita from Rav Mordechai Friedlander zt”l in Jerusalem. He has been featured on the BBC WorldService, the Jerusalem Report and the Boston Globe. Rabbi Miller and his wife D’vorah are blessed with eight children and sweet grandchildren.
Rabbi Miller's ability to engage people, add ruach to his surroundings, along with his love of transmitting Torah ideals, will be a tremendous asset to SCY High’s growth strategy.
The SCY High community and the San Diego Jewish community at large will have an opportunity to meet Rabbi Miller in the Fall. Details to follow.
