Baltimore, MD – Jan. 12, 2016 - This past Sunday, over 200 residents gathered at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Azman to demonstrate their support for City Council Candidate Isaac "Yitzy" Schleifer.

The enthusiastic crowd heard from NY Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder, who felt strongly about our community being properly represented in the halls of government. Goldfeder gave real-life examples where having proper community representation made all the difference.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Chaya Karen Friedman introduced Yitzy and mentioned his passion, vision and service to the community. She particularly noted the summer lunch program as an initiative that really showed what Yitzy is capable of accomplishing.

After Yitzy gave brief remarks about his plans for the District and his campaign, Baltimore City Crime Lab director Steve O'Dell thanked Yitzy for getting the Mayor to provide greatly needed funding for 10 additional crime lab employees. These new employees will be greatly utilized in fighting crime in the City and our District.

In addition to the many congregational Rabbis and community leaders, the event was attended by City Council President Jack Young, State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby and City Councilman and Mayoral Candidate Nick Mosby.

The attendees were very impressed by the momentum and attention the campaign has garnered and wholeheartedly will be supporting Yitzy has he moves closer to his seat in the Baltimore City Council.
