Baltimore, MD - July 7, 2025 - Average gas prices in Baltimore have dropped by 8.4 cents per gallon over the past week, now averaging $3.16 per gallon, according to a GasBuddy survey of 663 stations in the area.
Despite this recent drop, prices remain 25.4 cents higher than a month ago but are 40.7 cents lower than the same time last year.
The survey revealed that the cheapest gas station in Baltimore was priced at $2.69 per gallon, while the most expensive was $3.59 per gallon, marking a 90-cent difference. Across the state, prices ranged from $2.69 to $4.69 per gallon.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline has fallen by 5.3 cents per gallon in the last week, now averaging $3.09 per gallon.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said, "Nearly every state saw average gas prices decline for the second straight week, even as the nation celebrated July 4 with the lowest national average for Independence Day since 2020."
De Haan added that OPEC's decision to increase production by 548,000 barrels per day in August could further pressure oil prices, potentially leading to a national average below $3 per gallon later this summer.
However, he noted that this depends on the containment of Middle East tensions and the absence of major hurricanes in the Gulf.
