Baltimore, MD - June 30, 2025 - Baltimore police are urging the public to assist in identifying suspects involved in a recent surge of robberies across the city.

According to the latest data, robberies increased by 40% between June 1 and June 14 compared to the previous two weeks.

In a surveillance video released by police, two armed males are seen entering a business, discharging their weapons, and announcing a robbery.

The incident involved a 68-year-old woman who was robbed just before 10 a.m. in Southeast Baltimore.

Nick Webb, a resident of Fells Point, recounted his experience of being robbed on June 11 while unloading his car. "Once I opened the trunk and kind of turned my back a little, that’s when they pulled the gun out," he said.

A downtown smoke shop owner reported being robbed three times by the same suspects, with one of the teens involved having been arrested and released. "I can’t even believe if he was arrested and he was released and how dare he again come and rob with some more kids," the owner said.

On June 9, a robbery on Harlem Avenue turned violent when a man was shot. Despite the rise in robberies, data shows a decline in other violent crimes such as homicides and non-fatal shootings during the same period.

Victims of these robberies are acutely aware of the violence associated with these crimes. "They are not only playing or trying to rob snacks they are clearly punching, assaulting and robbing the people," said one victim. Nick Webb added, "It didn’t feel like I had almost just died, even though that’s where that could have led."

Baltimore police continue to seek information from the public to help identify and apprehend the suspects involved in these crimes.
