Baltimore Launches New Deer Management Initiative, Seeks Community Input

Baltimore, MD – June 25, 2025 – Baltimore City Recreation and Parks has launched a new Deer Management Program and is actively seeking feedback from residents and local organizations through a brief survey and a series of upcoming info sessions.

Spearheaded by Wildlife Conservation Analyst Shane Boehne, the program aims to understand how deer are impacting city neighborhoods, parks, and residents. The goal is to develop informed and community-based solutions to manage the city’s growing deer population.

10-Minute Community Survey Now Open
Baltimore residents are encouraged to complete a 10-minute online survey by July 1st to share their experiences and perspectives on local deer issues.

Public Info Sessions – In-Person and Online
Residents can learn more about the program and give feedback at one of four public information sessions:

Participants will learn about deer ecology, current challenges, and proposed solutions, and will also have the opportunity to qualify for park-specific focus groups.
