Baltimore, MD - June 24, 2025 - Playa Bowls Quarry Lake, a beloved destination for healthy and delicious superfruit bowls, smoothies, and more, is pleased to announce a change in ownership. The popular location at 2632 Quarry Lake Drive was acquired in March of this year by local entrepreneurs Scott and Robert Weitz.
The Weitz duo, deeply rooted in the Baltimore Jewish community, expressed their excitement about taking the reins of this successful establishment. "We are thrilled to become the new owners of Playa Bowls Quarry Lake," said Scott Weitz. "This store, through the work and dedication of its previous owners (Isaac and Nancy Pretter; Dov and Jenny Ockin), has built a loyal following and a fantastic reputation. We are committed to upholding the high standards of quality and service that the community and our customers at large have come to expect."
A key priority for the new ownership is the continuation of the store's STAR-D kosher certification. Playa Bowls Quarry Lake has been, and will continue to be, proudly certified by STAR-K Certification Inc. Scott Weitz has been working closely with STAR-K to ensure all standards are met and that the certification remains seamlessly in place.

The new owners look forward to continuing to serve the Pikesville area and are currently looking to expand the Playa footprint throughout greater Baltimore with plans for a second Kosher location hopefully in the near future.
